Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

anyone tried Simple Mobile(T-Mobile) Sim?
Maybe not but all TMobile (and other non-Sprint) MVNO's are acceptable for port in or port out if that's what you are asking. Sprint is porting from and to any/all of them!

Curious to know if anyone used Ting gsm to port out of sprint and then port back in. What is the wating period and cost?
Did this last December, waiting period to get your account number and pin is around an hour. Check Ting's website and looks like they will give you $25 credit for trying their service. Let us know if you go through this and if there are any changes.

So I cant find to port my GV online and I chatted with them they asked me which Service Provider is my GV Number I said ATT lol. How about you what did you say?
comintel helped me a lot yesterday and I just successfully ported an unlocked GV number. If you want to use GV as Sprint main number you need to go into Google Voice Legacy and choose to unlock in settings. Legacy may not appear as option on phone in Chrome so you have to either change Chrome setting at top right to "desktop site" or just do it on a PC.
Once it's been unlocked call cs to do the port by phone. You don't have to unlock if you want t to keep GV and port carrier number but you should still do setup over the phone, assuming you already have the right SIM.

True - if it is still listed anywhere on the network you obviously can't use it somewhere else. Someone may have just turned off a phone without fully deactivating it (and the sim within it) so the network still comsiders it to be in use.

Fix: Swap off the other device which is still listed on the network and the sim within it will be released instantly. You cannot just remove the sim from a device and use it somewhere else.

But this issue does not arise just porting out a device (and its sim with it) and porting it in back to another account, which is what we were discussing here. There should never be a problem with that.

If it is two different devices, yes, I agree it is better to get a new sim for the new device and avoid swapping sims.
That's not what I was saying. We had Sprint reps actually do it for us, and still there are issues. It really depends. It's not a matter of just removing and putting the sim in another device. If you did that, you can't even call or text (which tells you that that's not what we did).

OMG a Merger Deal 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can't be good for us... Surprisingly though this promotion is still on the website as of May 1st I thought for sure that it would be canceled the end of April in light of the merger talks or perhaps they would exclude T-Mobile from the promotion.

I bought a S9 unlocked directly from samsung. I can't make call and surf the net at the same time. Any idea how to get it working? Thanks
you can't. Sprint cell phones technology doesn't allow it on CDMA. Only GSM and VOLTE allows that on verizon and tmobile/att...unfortunately its just not a feature on sprint. On the bright side at least your phone is working properly Smilie

I wouldn't worry since the merger wont affect customers on both sides for a while. That said, its probably best to get in on this while you can. In the end then they'll either let you finish off your year or they'll offer a sweet deal when the new company takes charge in 2019.

The instructions are clearly outlined in various posts in the last dozen or so pages of this thread!

So this is still going on? I've been meaning to do this for a couple months but have been the master of procrastination. I have a couple scenarios and am wondering if somebody can just confirm that these are the correct ways to go about them. Thanks a ton in advance!

1: Daughter is an iPhone SE user on Tello. I've got a Red Pocket Verizon kit. I should pop in that SIM, port her number to Red Pocket, then call the Sprint promo number to port it back to Sprint using the current Tello SIM. See any problems with this?

2: I've got an old unactivated Moto phone laying around I wouldn't mind just keeping in the car for hotspot and Android Auto. I also have an extra Sprint SIM card too. Would the best way to get this going be to buy a T-Mobile number off eBay (unfunded) then call Sprint promos to port that number in using my extra Sprint SIM?

Thanks in advance!

Basically yes but phones that have been on Sprint MVNO's will be rejected at first with a misleading error citing "money owed to Sprint". Search on LiterallyUnlimited in this thread for how to get around this. Also phones originally sold for Boost, Virgin or Sprint Prepaid etc. cannot be activated at all on PostPaid, even if they have since worked on Sprint mvno's.

Definitely read back through the last few days as this question is discussed continually, but
in summary, ask a spouse/family member/relative to start a new plan under their SSN that they will share with you. Then port your numbers out of your current plan to TMobile Prepaid and then back in to Sprint to the new plan, which will have an end-of-savings date of May 31, 2019.
