I just had an online chat with a sprint customer service rep, he says the promo will end on 7/31/18.

Then I managed to transfer my number and on the post sign up page, I got this message:

FREE unlimited data, talk text until 7/31/18
HD Streaming video and 10GB hotspot data per line
Upgrade anytime after 120 days

That refers to the last date of savings for your current plan. We already know those dates. They are 12 to 15 months after your first activation (not 12 to 15 months after your most recent activation).

The immediate issue now is whether the offer will close off completely to NEW takers of the offer in the coming days.

Nobody is suggesting that there will be any change in the last savings date for people already on the plan. That will stay the same (7/31/18 in your case).

But what do you mean, "Then I managed to transfer my number"? If you transferred it into an existing plan or probably a replacement plan under the same SSN (but without being away from Sprint for the required 45 days), you get the same end of savings date as your original first activation got for its end of savings date. Most likely you first activated around June or July 2017, so a year later is July 2018, which applies to all subsequent line activations in that plan.

I never had an account with Sprint prior to today. I never had a plan with them before. Therefore I expected that the free plan would last until 5/3/2019 (a year from today) and not 7/31/18.

To get best service..atleast in NJ..make sure your phone supports Band 41, 25 and 26.

I additionally got a magic box which extends band 41 to indoors. Band 41 is very good.

But what does your online Dashboard show?

On it, click Manage Plan / See Details.

That is the one that counts and most likely it will show the correct end of savings date of 5/31/2019.

When I checked the eligibility of the 2 devices (iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s+, currently active on AT&T service) using the sprint website for this free plan, it said "Sorry, but this device can't be activated with Sprint service.". Is that right?

The att version of the 6s and 6 definitely can work. It's failing because I don't think your phone is unlocked. I had the same problem as well until I unlocked the phone then it past the checker.

Thx so much for your reply. Is there a way to verify my eligibility while the devices are active on AT&T? Been on ATT for at least 2 years - can I get them 'unlock' while the service is still active and how? Thx again.

Your welcome. You need to unlock them from atts website. And as long as there paid off they should unlock them I imagine they would be if it's been 2 years already.
