Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I have my main phone number on a plan with t-mobile a different carrier. If I port in to sprint with a different number to try it out can i subsequently change the number on sprint to my main number?
Several people have succeeded in porting in another number on top of the first number they ported in without losing their free plan but at least one other person had major problems. Others have been deterred. A lot of these things depend on how you approach it.

You can do it another way if you want: Start with your trial number. Then when you decide you like it, you could port in your main number as an additional line with a dummy or cheap phone. Then swap numbers once both are on the plan. Even this depends on your doing it carefully but is a more standard request. I had no trouble swapping numbers. The more you talk to them about hypotheticals the more notes they make on your account which can start to look problematic to them.

Just ask tech. support to do it without asking questions. If you start asking questions about "will this be allowed on my plan" etc. they may get nervous that you are trying to break some rule and may refer it to clueless customer service people who may say No and annotate your account accordingly because that has no risk to them.

But be careful and I think you can look forward to being able to do it later one way or the other when the time comes.

So anyway to get a Sprint SIM local without paying the $10?

Can I get one from bestbuy? If so which one for a iphone 7 Plus?

So it looks like the LG G3 isnt eligible. I'm guess the LG V20 isnt either?

So I have to buy an eligible phone and activate an account with the eligible phone. Once that account is set up, I can swap the phone away from the eligible phone. For the next line, I would have to swap it to the eligible phone, port out and port in and swap the phone again, etc. Do this for 3 lines- is it possible to use 1 phone to do it all?

Will that work? This is ridiculous. My LG G3 already work on the network.

No you have to call 866-782-8777 to add lines later - they do not have a web app for that. It is a fast call though - no credit info. needed.

Sure I did not know how old your plan was.

And yes you can use an EBay "TMo number for port" . I have done so twice. Use EBay seller with name beginning "Portmaster". Some others are unreliable especially on weekends.
I have 2 more months to go with my free plan. What is the Tmo number for port for? I would like to extend it, perhaps if this method works. Confused

Just walk into an Apple store and asks for a free one for Sprint.

You only need a Tmobile number for port if you do not have another number that you want to keep. Most people probably will port a number out of their current plan and then, as required, into another plan in someone else's SSN so they would use that route rather than using a new number for port.

You really need to diagnose each phone to see why it is rejected.

Test at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...hop:030918 and on the Tello checker to see what they say for each one.

If you get a "money owed to Sprint" rejection, that means the phone was on an mvno and will be rejected until it is pushed back to Postpaid. Seach on LiterallyUnlimited in this thread and read his posts, then you can contact him via Reddit to do that for you . This category will not activate by swap either until this is done.

If both checks above are postive though, swapping should work as you outline. Sure you could do it repeatedly. First try just calling as it will often activate that way without needing to swap, even despite failing the online check in the offer.

Most phones that were originally sold as Boost or Sprint prepaid models will not activate at all.

Thanks and repped! Seeing 5/17 as a solid date for this deal to end, I should probably get it done come Monday, rather than risking 2 more months.

I followed the steps you mentioned and when I activated the phone online under a different social security number it gave me a message saying I will have free unlimited data talk and text until 7/31/18! It didn't give me another year of free service, even though The new account is under a different social and I ported over the number. It seems it just gave me the 2 remaining months I would have had before. Bummer.
Looks like they fixed the bug then. Probably tracking your phone IMEI/SIM or the number, plus T-Mobile isn't "another" carrier any more either. But this is only one data point, would definitely want to hear details of what you actually did.

Nah - that confirmation message always has that same old date - it is just a bug.

The Portal will show the real date and it will be 5/31/2019.

This has been verified by other people.

Hopefully the original poster will confirm.

Anyone know how long it takes to cancel service and port in a completely different number under a different SSN? Phone and SIM can be reused, I assume?

Some people are posting that they did the whole thing round trip inside a few hours using TMobile Prepaid which does fast ports. Yes same phones and sims.

But I'm wondering about cancelling, not porting out (maybe the same?), I also don't have a T-Mobile prepaid SIM (do you need one?).
