Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

YMMV - I was able to port to T-Mobile directly by calling their Porting Dept. They activated the Prepaid account and did not ask for any payment.
Also wanted to port a new number from FreedomPop since 04/26 but FP kept rejecting the port and so while porting back from T-mobile I asked Sprint's porting dept to cancel the port and was asked instead if I would like a new number and still be on the BYOD free Plan.

As mentioned YMMV but for those who are stuck waiting for a port it's worth a try calling Sprint's porting dept.

Perfect. Notice the first Sprint report DOES qualify. So it is only something in the validation for this particular offer that is the issue.

I was not 100% sure from the way you worded it - have you specifically called 866-782-8777 (not just tried online) and tried to activate this phone? Often those go through by phone even when the online checker does not approve. Were you careful that the number to port in was not from a Sprint mvno?

If you call and still fail, then yes you will have to try to swap it on.

I think it will go on one way or the other.

kmartindI tried to use the last 4 digits of PIN as SSN for porting once when they asked, and the agent said "I think that's not right" (since I had said I was porting in from my T-Mobile account she expected the last 4 of the SSN to match this Sprint account), so I just said oops and gave that instead of arguing with her, and it still went through fine. That shows the SSN field is completely ignored when porting from T-Mobile pp, but could possibly differ if porting in from a different carrier.

A lot just depends on the agent you get. I had one super efficient guy who just

immediately asked for IMEI, ICCID, phone number, account number, pin, gave super fast rundown of terms, and then basically thanks bye; probably 2 minutes. Another time I got a lady who sounded like some kind of former phone sex operator or something, doing her best pseudo-American accent and following up each statement with a fake sounding flirty giggle (ugh), and asked for all sorts of extra stuff like the name and address on the account, last 4 of ssn, etc, just to do a port in of an additional line.
I think some Sprint sales agents are trying to "help" too much by providing too much in the form of their own personal guesswork as to what TMobile is going to need and what form it will take. It is supposed to be up to TMobile to pass or fail the port out request, not up to Sprint.

I would suggest that the original poster, after checking with TMobile, give Sprint the final set of port out information that he judges right and insist that Sprint go ahead and submit it as is so as not to delay the ports further.

In all liklihood it will pass, even if some fields were not actually needed.

If not, the original poster can fix it up with Sprint's Port department, which will be a lot more experienced than the sales agents who are trying to pre-vet the port info.

1)First, have your Sprint account number and PIN ready.
2) Order the Tmobile prepaid/pay as you go SIM card from Amazon. Its around $8.95..Chose one day shipping and pay extra $5 to get it the next day.
3) You don't have to recharge/reload the SIM. Once receive the SIM, call Tmobile customer care and ask them to port your sprint number to Tmobile. Just give them your Sprint Acc. no, PIN , Phone number and T mobile SIM card number
4) Your number will be ported to T mobile in less than 5 minutes.
5) Wait for about an hour and Chat with Sprint Customer care and verify if your account is cancelled.
6) Now call back sprint telesales number and port your Tmobile number to Sprint with a different SSN ( a family members)
7) After about 45 mins or so with all credit check etc done, you are good to go for another one year.
good summary.
but need details on step 6.
like what is account number on tmobile?
what is pin on tmobile?
it is likely this info is somewhere in this thread,
but would be nice to include in a summary like u have provided

Yes, there will it be a hard pull on her credit. It's done every time a new account is opened.

As indicated here in the past few days or so, Sprint will TERMINATE this BYOD 1 Year Free offer on 5/17/2018, and this thread will be dead after that.

So, anyone thinking of doing this you have about 11 days left to do it, but because of possible delays/complications it should be done asap.

Now, the good news is that once you have this free Sprint account open with at least one line, you can add more free lines later past the offer closing date of 5/17/2018 for this latest offer extension to 5/31/2019, up to the # of lines you were approved by Sprint when you initially opened the account, most people with good credit get approved for 5.

If you opened your BYOD account, say when the offer closing date was 1/31/2018 and the offer then was extended to 1/31/2019, then you can add more free lines to your account until 1/31/2019. Similarly for all other free offer extensions of the past year or so.

To add more free lines you'll have to call the phone # of the free offer, 1-866-782-8777.

I successfully ported on to t-mobile.

I tried calling once using that number. Representative basically kept directing me to the checker and said that she couldn't do anything because my phone doesn't qualify. Kept trying to push me on other plans/buy a new phone. Not sure if I should try again because they might flag me again.

So my method will have to be:
1) Buy a phone that will qualify without effort. Stick my t-mobile sim in it and get it ported in with the BYOD deal. (I believe t-mobile is swappable between phones, please inform me if I'm wrong).
2) After porting in, swap the porting phone with the G3.
3) Swap the porting phone with phones on my other account and port out to t-mobile.
4) Port in to the new BYOD account, swap the porting phone again with another G3, and repeat for two more lines.

If I do follow the above, how long does the swapping take and will they eventually ban that one porting phone for swapping and porting out and in so much? This is such a hassle...but I'm motivated. I'm not giving them another $200/month for the worst website and customer service.

Well the actual swap can be done in 40 seconds. Numerous people here including me do them all the time. Search back on IMEI swap. Just start it via the DashBoard or tech. support chat and just do it, do not ask if you can do it or give background etc. Do not call Sales and ask.

However I cannot guarantee any given phone will qualify to be swapped in. Some are still rejected.

So personally I would get a cheap dummy or broken phone IMEI of an eligible device. I always have some and have seen them sold and given but I am not going to give or sell any away or help anyone find them.

Or a phone you can return if it does not work.

I do not see anything improper about doing multiple swaps repeatedly involving tjhe same IMEI and nobody has reported a problem with that.

Although I have done a number of swaps, I could always get devices (including old flip phones with no sims!) on without needing to swap so I have not done it for that reason. Someone else who has might be a better person to talk to.

I half suspect that if you tried various reps you would get one that would allow your G3 on directly.
Do not say it is a G3 just use the model number and only if they ask. Personally I would pursue that route further. Probably you could call and be a new user just checking if it is eligible so they do not note your name etc. if they say no. I doubt they would note it anyway.

Also I would argue with them. It sounds to me as if they were making a sales pitch to you. If you look at the whole of the Sprint web pages on this offer, they imply network compatibility is what matters. The list does not say it is a complete one. It says "includes" not "is limited to". You could say, just activate these for now and I will upgrade them later. Ask if they would be eligible for the insurance to motivate them (you can always cancel it right after).

OK... I have 2 lines on this deal, iPhone and Moto. I got 2 T-Mobile sim cards from Apple. I called T-Mobile and opened pay as you go plan with the Moto and ported it's number over. That was 20 mins ago. I checked sprint online and the Moto isn't on there now. But when I do the eligibility checked it still says not eligible. Do I have to wait? Do I have to put the sim card in the phone? Do I have to do something else?

Edit: Oops, checked in my tablet and the Moto does still show up the acct so I think I have to wait a bit longer. Do I have to put the sim card in my phone for it to finish transferring?

Edit 2: Got it! I had to confirm PIN number
