Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Can I port in to ATT after funding $1 or do I need to fund $1 first and then port in to ATT.....
For me, I've funded first. I call in to activate and tell them I want to port in a number to replace the number assigned. They require funding prior to porting. They may ask for $10 but I tell them I just want to add a dollar until I get the porting taken care of.

Are you doing this online? What error message are you getting? It's most likely nothing to do with the credit/SSN# but more likely a device issue. Almost anyone can get this offer so long as they can pass identity questions from Sprint Credit Dept. You don't even have to have good credit. You should call the Sprint Promo # instead of online. If you did call the Promo #, you most likely failed the identity questions that were asked. If it was online, you should post your error message that you received to clear that up.
Yes, I called and they did a hard pull and then told me a letter is coming and I have to wait 60 days, by which time this promo is over. Hubby's SSN didn't work either, and unfortunately, at the corporate store, they did open an account for him, not sure why that's a bad thing, but I guess it is per what HunterOne said below.

Quote from HunterOne :
Call again and ask to speak to a supervisor in the credit dept to try this once more.
Insist, as you have nothing to lose.
Tell them that you're willing to go to a Sprint Corporate store to verify your identity, BUT NEVER-EVER open an account there. Just to do the ID check ONLY at the store.
Waiting for an explanation letter is a DEAD end!

A hard pull is ALWAYS done here.

Ok, thanks, I'll call again. They opened an account at the store on hubby but not me, so I'll try again on the phone and ask for a sup.

for those closing accounts/lines and opening a new one under a different SSN,

are you able to close the line one at a time? I tried closing a few lines and they said they couldn't until the closing date. I had to be transferred to a different department.

Good think I have a few old non smart phones that I was able to swap so I can use my smartphones on the new account.

Asked this earlier, but didn't get a reply...
If setting up auto-pay is a requirement of this deal, can we pay our bill manually before the auto-pay due date arrives or should you allow it to pay on its own?

I'd still keep the auto-pay settings intact.

P.S. In my billing section, it offers that I can pay the (first) bill weeks before it's due.

Porting the number out of Sprint to somewhere else guarantees the line gets removed from the account, without needing to call them (and very quickly if porting to a major wireless carrier).

Once number is ported to Sprint, can I request to change number?

I'm using a new Google voice number, but there are currently no Google Voice numbers in my area.
Changing your Sprint number is pretty easy, fast and free. You just can't pick the exact number (only the area code) and can't do it more than 3 times in 30 days.
I just did it the other day due to one of my numbers getting excessive Spam calls. You shut down your phone, do the change online, and power it back up. Typically you'll still need to do a carrier reset on the phone (usually ##72786# or *#*#72786#*#*) for it to fully take effect. Only if it still doesn't work after doing that, letting it restart, and waiting a few minutes should you even look at their "how to manually program" instructions. That should very rarely be necessary.

See below link for more info on how to do the change:

Sprint Credit Department:
1-800-639-6116
is the direct number and they will usually give you a second set of identity questions, this time based only on your credit report, if that was the problem, even if you were told you could not reapply for 30 days.

It just needs to be approved by a supervisor there.

However if it was based on credit rating they may still decline. But worth a try anyway.
than you this worked, supervisor vs. run of the mill CSR. Thanks for the direct number.

Can somebody confirm if this comes with GLOBAL ROAMING option and if faster data pass is available for purchase with this plan ?
it is kind of included. In other words the accounts is eligible for Global roaming but not added in automatically. You need to call the customer support and make sure it is added into your account.

Literally speaking, yes, the immediate block is the database. If you want to focus on that, fine.

But if Samsung came out with brand switching firmware tomorrow, then Sprint would add them to the database. They would love the business. The main reason they are not in the database is that they would not work anyway (unless flashed). so putting them in there too far ahead if time would give many users the bad experience of being able to activate and port in their phone, only to have it unusable.
Thanks for the detailed explanation.
Doe it mean Samsung S9 plus (G965U, AT&T unlocked) is not a eligible phone for this promotion?

No you're all set now - you are home free if they opened an account at the store for him! That is normal procedure when you go to a store and present identity.

(What you do not want is for them to take it a step further and try to create the free plan itself in the store. Opening an account and stopping there is normal.)

Now just call 866-782-8777 and set up the free plan in the account that was created in the store!

At last report Samsung has not yet added brand-switching to this model unfortunately. It usually does this some months after release (S8 many months ago, Note 8 just recently). I expect it will happen. Until then you cannot activate it on Sprint.

If you have the plan open with another phone for now, I would check once a month month or so at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...hop:030918 to see when they add it and then add it on when Samsung releases brand switching for that model.

Sprint S7 will work? I need to bring my patents lines who is using att phone,LG G5
Yes it should work but may take a little effort.

First try the IMEI at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...hop:030918 and let us know what it says if there is an error message.

(There will be an error if it was on an mvno in the past but you can get around it......).

Also when calling in, do not ask "Is an S7 eligible?". That's inviting trouble. Just give them the IMEI and ICCID and phone number without mentioining the brand. If they ask "Is it a xxxxx", just say Yes and nothing more.

I moved one line at a time to t-mobile and then back for 5 lines, over several days. You're not closing a line, you're just porting it out, which takes care of closing that line with Sprint.
