Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

for those closing accounts/lines and opening a new one under a different SSN,

are you able to close the line one at a time? I tried closing a few lines and they said they couldn't until the closing date. I had to be transferred to a different department.

Good think I have a few old non smart phones that I was able to swap so I can use my smartphones on the new account.
As noted by other posters, you would lose your numbers if you closed the lines. So you do not want to do that and also it takes much longer and has to be approved in a conversation with Retentions. You want to port out instead. Even if you do want to throw away the number, porting out is still better because it frees the phone instantly.

Wow that's fantastic that you got it done! We are seeing quite a few people qualify on second try or third try!
Ok, so it worked, my credit pull was successful but maybe b/c they're already sending me that d&** letter, the sales dept says it's a NO GO, so we ended up using hubby's account to go through with this promo but at least it's going to work. I don't have a SIM ready to go, I'm waiting on one to arrive from online, is the easiest/cheapest nano one to get in a brick and mortar the ones you guys referenced at Best Buy? The (competent, for once) sales guy says he'll call me back. To wait would be a few more days without a SIM. I could wait, I suppose... lol... I'll still make it before the 5/17 deadline to start. The port out for Google was very straightforward and easy. Thank you all so much, just planning to do one phone unless I find a good deal on another unlocked phone soon (unlikely, we're too cheap to bite).

No you're all set now - you are home free if they opened an account at the store for him! That is normal procedure when you go to a store and present identity. Quite a few people are not fully familiar with it.

(What you do not want is for them to take it a step further and try to create the free plan itself in the store. Opening an account and stopping there is normal.)

Now just call 866-782-8777 and set up the free plan in the account that was created in the store!
Thanks again and repped. All set with hubby's, now just need a nano SIM.

ATTENTION!!

I asked in this thread about manual payments and didn't get a reply. I just contacted customer service and have the info.

If you have auto-pay setup (a condition of the promotion) and see in your account an option to manually pay your bill early (before your auto-pay kicks in) -paying manually will expire the promotion.

Let it make an auto payment on its own every month. You can change the payment method/add a card, but must keep it on auto-pay.

Wanted to add that first CSR on sales line tries to say although my phone's IMEI/MEID qualifies for this promo that for some reason our account doesn't (BS) and tried to upsell us (hubby and I were both on the line with him) as if we were born yesterday. I told him I'll be hanging up if he's trying to upsell us, but what I really meant was I'm going to reach through the phone and give him a left hook, lol, ok, maybe not, but I was like, "are you freakin' kidding me?" Hubby was much more diplomatic and took over from that point on. CSR says no go, so hubby hung up and called back, got someone else much better and we're all set. This story is to say if one CSR is playing games, hang up and try again. Smilie

Can somebody confirm if this comes with GLOBAL ROAMING option and if faster data pass is available for purchase with this plan ?

Yes it is included.

Read the following text at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/of...:1yearfree
and click on the links included there for full details. There is little point my quibbling over wording when you can see the precise details by following those links. You can read about the fast data pass there. The wording is exact and accurate for this plan and there is little point in trying to trivialize it to a few words. Fast data pass is available and you will see the rates there. It is part of Global Roaming so is not respecified for this plan.

Quote :
Are international services included?
Yes, our 1 Year Free Unlimited plan includes Sprint Global Roaming, which includes data up to 2G speeds and text messaging in any of our 185+ Global Roaming countries at no charge, plus calling for just $0.20 a minute.
It does not include Sprint's Premium International Experience for calling to and roaming in Canada & Mexico.
It does not include calling from the U.S. to international locations, but you can easily add international calling to your plan.

Super - good to hear!
And yes the $9.99 Boost sim pack is often easiest because it is PROBLEM FREE. Buying at a Sprint store has worked great for some and ended up in problems of various kinds for quite a few others.
For iPhones you can usually get sims free at an Apple Store.

You're welcome.

I have the My Sprint app and saw today my first bill, 2 1/2 weeks early than auto-pay. There's a big "make a payment" button.

Before clicking I thought I should ask here. No one replied so I contacted CS. Someone's gonna end up paying manually. šŸ˜•

You have to keep it on autopay BUT that does not stop you paying manually as well in my opinion. I have paid manually at times preempting the autopay. Just don't cancel the autopay on the account.

They're oversimplifying it imho but whatever you want to believe is fine....

When I was in a hurry I got one from a local corporate owned Sprint store for $2.99. They can look up which one you need by IMEI/MEID if you're not certain. Just don't let them try to activate or do anything to any plan. Purchase SIM and leave. (I told them I don't have a Sprint number yet, and I'm planning to activate over the phone).

It's been mentioned several times in other posts, but unless you actually want to stick with Sprint and are hoping they'll give you a decent deal to stay after the promo ends (they might), don't bother calling them. Just port out the numbers, and your line(s) will be cancelled immediately upon completion of the port. You do still have to make the final payment (which should happen automatically with auto-pay on but it never hurts to check your Sprint account page to confirm after the payment date that everything is in order).

Yes it should work but may take a little effort.

First try the IMEI at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...hop:030918 and let us know what it says if there is an error message.

(There will be an error if it was on an mvno in the past but you can get around it......).

Also when calling in, do not ask "Is an S7 eligible?". That's inviting trouble. Just give them the IMEI and ICCID and phone number without mentioining the brand. If they ask "Is it a xxxxx", just say Yes and nothing more.
wonderful thanks. I got it.
