Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I have this offer currently and my year is about to expire. I have another line I can port in due to getting a company phone today. Can I port a new line in and start a new year or should I put it in my wife's name?

Use a new name and social on a new account. Then port your number out for few days then add to her account.

Rumor says 5/17 is the last day so do it quick, just in case. No one knows for sure until it happens but why take the risk.

I am also trying to port from FP and being rejected for a week. Were you able to get a new number and stay on the plan?
Quote from tracker :
YMMV - I was able to port to T-Mobile directly by calling their Porting Dept. They activated the Prepaid account and did not ask for any payment.
Also wanted to port a new number from FreedomPop since 04/26 but FP kept rejecting the port and so while porting back from T-mobile I asked Sprint's porting dept to cancel the port and was asked instead if I would like a new number and still be on the BYOD free Plan.

As mentioned YMMV but for those who are stuck waiting for a port it's worth a try calling Sprint's porting dept.

How does porting out the previous main account holder work? Do I have to pay the bill before I port out so that I can port back into Sprint without alerting flags?

My Freedompop Global number didn't go through. Then I tried Freedompop LTE number and was able to port over in four hours. I added a second line from Google Voice which was ported instantly.

BTW, my Virgin Mobile $1/mth ends soon. So I called them and terminated my account. Most importantly I asked them to mark my phone as inactive, and I was able to add my second line to that phone in seconds.

I have a iPhone 5s that was bought from virgin mobile but only used it in Ring+. It has no service provider right now thus no phone number. I put in its IMEI with a landline number in the Sprint checker and it says eligible. Does that mean I should have no problem using this phone to sign up for this deal? I wasn't sure what phone number to put in the checker as I don't have a number for this device currently (thus used a landline number). Is that ok?
I am in the exact same boat and want to know if this actually works. Not works as is "the website eligibility check passes", but works as in makes calls, text, data. And do you need a sprint SIM to make this work or can you use the VM sim that came with the phone?

I've read the thread and don't think there's an answer to this, can I do the port out to TMobile and port back into sprint at night. What times are the porting departments open so I can avoid missed calls and texts?

For those of you that are almost/had a year already - did you get charged the normal price after the year or are you still getting it free?

I'm 6 months in the plan with 5 lines. I wasn't sure if we will still have the free plan until it ends in 5/31/19

When I ported my last lines it was around 9:30pm central.

I'm also wondering about this. Has anyone had an actual experience making it work for this free plan using a VM iPhone and could share the experience plz...?

Boost, Virgin and Sprint sims are one and the same thing. This is noted on the packaging material. You never need to change the sim moving between them and these sims never expire.

Just check the IMEI of any phone in the Sprint web eligibility checker for this offer with some phone number. If it says it will activate, it will activate and work at least minimally, apart from some cases where it might be locked but that should not apply in the case of the recent post here because it worked on a Sprint mvno.

Will most such phones activate? No. Will some? Yes.

It may not be worthwhile trying to generalize from other people's experiences with Virgin iPhones because all you will get is some that were allowed on and some that were not. (Of course you can poll people for what it is worth but I doubt it will prove anything from just 3 or 4 replies).

Of course it "works" minimally if it passes the eligibilty test (unless it is broken). It was certified to work by Apple at release. Phones on Sprint do not stop working. Even old flip phones still work. If you need detaile info on that, search the web on "iphone 5S on Sprint" or whatever.

But the 5S in particular is a LOUSY LOUSY phone to buy for use on Sprint, that you will truly regret buying, because it was the last iPhone model that had no compatibity in any version with Sprint's new Spark capabilities that are the basis of decent performance on Sprint today. You will have pure junk network performance. A lot will conclude that that Sprint is no good when it is really the phone that is no good.

5S would be fine though for voice calls and wifi use, as long as you do not need to use it much away from wifi for web access.

So question, can you use the sim card in any other phone? Or do you absolutely need to call them and switch the imei? I'm just thinking for sitiuations where you want to temporarily switch the phone or whatever..

SIM cards are married to their respective phones in the Sprint world. You can get a divorce by cancelling or allowing service to lapse. Then you can re-use the SIM in a compatible phone. But SIMs ARE re-usable. They never expire, unlike the GSM world.

Just moving the sim will not move the service, even if it *happens* to be the right sim part for the other phone (which it will usually not be).

You have to do an IMEI swap. It takes about 30 seconds. You do not need to touch the sims - just have the correct sims in both phones and leave them in place and swap by IMEI online which is instant.

Calling is the wrong way to do it too and will get you in a mess if you call TeleSales which knows nothing about it and will tell you it would be a paid upgrade which you are not eligible for. Start in the Web dashboard or support chat.

Oh okay, that's easy enough if you can do it yourself.
