Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

What's the cheapest compatible phone that would be eligible for this deal? I'm trying to help a couple friends get in before it's over.

So my daughter suddenly wants to get in on this plan before it expires. She doesn't care if she loses her old phone number.

Is my best option to go to Best Buy tomorrow and buy the unlocked E4 and the boost mobile sim card? Then use T-mobile Prepaid to set up a new prepaid account and get a new prepaid number using an old Tmobile phone and SIM that I have laying around. Then port that number over to Sprint to get the BYOD plan using the new unlocked E4? TIA.

Which carrier was it bought for/from?

Samsung has not yet released brand switching for the S9 so only the Sprint-branded or Unbranded Unlocked S9 will work for now.

The Sim needed is SIMOLW406TQ or SIMOLW506TQ which is in the Boost sim pack but this will not help qualify an S9 that is not compatible.

However once Samsung releases brand switching for the S9 down the road, then it can go on.
The phone was purchased unlocked from Newegg. It is currently signed up for metro pcs service. The phone should be unbranded. I paid full price for the phone and did not purchase it through a carrier.

Thanks!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 that was a Sprint phone long ago , but had been off a Sprint acct for quite some time. I added it to my BYOD acct last year after creating the acct under my SSN on a Moto E4.

We ported out the E4 to T-Mobile and back and seamlessly created a new acct under my wife's SSN. I want to port the S3 out (it's still active under my Sprint acct) and back to my wife's acct but this S3 has a built-in SIM. For the life of me, I can't recall how I did it last year.

Can someone suggest how I can port the S3 out and back in? When I enter the IMEI on the T-Mobile website, it says I am eligible to port to them, I just don't know to do it.

Can I buy the digital SIM (on ebay under item 173247016698), port to T-Mobile using that (I have current Sprint acct info from porting out E4), then port back to Sprint? I just won't have a Sprint SIM coming back & don't know how to handle that since it's built into the S3.

Thanks for the hand-holding!

Just say it has no sim if it does not have one.. That's what I did for another phone and it was fine.

But does S3 not have a sim?

Sorry to be dense, but do you mean "Just say it has no sim" when porting out to T-mobile?

No when porting back into Sprint.

You do not need to actually activate it on TMO do you as long as you can get your number onto TMO any which way.

But web sites say it does have a sim?

I have a Moto E that was used on Ring Plus and then moved to Ting. I should be able to just activate this right?? I read something a long time about Ting and having to call them but not sure what it was?
This phone is NOT active with Ting and hasn't been for a long time.

Do I need another sim card?? to be used on Sprint or will this one work?

Thanks for the help.

Same sim is fine but it will not activate for at least 1 reason and possibly two.

(1) Needs to be pushed back to postpaid from mvno status. Chat Ting tech support to push it back to postpaid status.
(2) It may not activate at all if it is a Sprint Prepaid model.

Would it be better to activate another older sprint phone and then switch phones out later? I do have another phone that was used on Sprint just sitting here. But might still have the challenge of it activating. The Moto E was a prepaid Model but it's a few years old now. Buy a new sim card for the moto E will that do it?

The built in ICCID(sim card number) is listed under settings/more/about phone/status. You will give sprint that ICCID umber for coming back in. The sprint S3-sph-L710 won't work on T-Mobile since it is CDMA only and LTE band 25. You should be able to port in and out of T-Mobile without a phone and just use the T-Mobile sim card for sign up to do port in and port out of T-Mobile.

Buying a new sim will not help in any way.

No you cannot swap it on either if it is flagged as MVNO. Or if it a Sprint Prepaid model.

But it is TRIVIAL to fix at least the MVNO flag. Just chat TIng tech support. They ROUTINELY do this for anyone who ever was on their service. Then check the IMEI on the Sprint eligibility checker. Realistically it may not qualify if it is Prepaid though.
