Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I started a new line of service to get this deal a few weeks back, if I want to add a second line and port a number from AT&T will the new line automatically be free? Do I add the line online or call customer support?

No
(1) you do not use sims like that on Sprint. You activate IMEI's not sim ICCID's.
(2) they do not take the same sim part number anyway
(3) the S7 edge of another carrier would have the wrong bands and could never work on Sprint anyway.

If the S9+ is the unbranded version (model number ending in U1) you may/should be able to use it on Sprint I would think if you can get it past the TeleSales stage. It might just go right on. Not yet, though. if it is an other-carrier branded version (model number ending in U) since Samsung has not yet released brand switching. But that should be possible later.

Getting the number in is no problem if you can get a phone on.

Thanks for the great response.

I have heard people reporting cancellation of home wifi and completely depending on Sprint tethering for home usage.
Is that really practical? How do you manage that?
Keep phone connected to charger and then tether?

Quote from Stephenjones007 :
It depends on their usage and their coverage area. Its only 10Gb per line tethering. If you only check emails and browse, then it should be fine. Streaming videos; youtube, netflix etc I would image use the data very quickly and thats if the speeds are enough.
Really bad idea for any substantial usage/HD content/etc.
Given Sprint's relatively bad/low down/up online speeds in many areas of the country, it'll probably be a frustrating experience for high usage.
Besides, the more Sprint people who do this the lower the speeds everyone on the Sprint network will be experiencing.

The 5G cell system coming out next year will have speeds high enough to replace wired services like cable/Fios/etc., but it will not be free.
BUT it will increase competition with all wired and satellite services, most likely keeping prices down to reasonable levels.

A side topic, where did you find out Xfinity Mobile port-out info?
You need to pay off device first, then request unlock ticket number. Then follow more steps. You can either call them or text them from their app.

Uh oh.. I did the port out to T-Mobile, and then use a new SSN to open a new account, but when I did the port in for the numbers I superimpose one of the numbers, and so they called me to say the port in wasn't working. Then they caught the fact that it went from Sprint to T-Mobile back to Sprint. Not sure what to do now at this point? The one number ported just fine but the one I made a mistake is where they caught me.. Any suggestions? I've had this number for 15 years, so I don't want to lose it. :-( the did say they would ask a supervisor, but I didn't take it that far yet, as I don't want to mess up the one line that's already up and running and active.
I'm surprised sprint had the manpower or brains to look up your port history because honestly most of the time the (Filipino/Indian) reps have no idea what's going on. yesterday I had to talk to over 4 people just to get the TEP phone $13 insurance plan removed even though I specifically asked them not to add to my account a hundred times when i was activating the line. The rep even confirmed it over the phone, and next thing u know it was added to my account...

So they messed up port back in because the phone # was incorrect? In this case can u call the port department and get it fixed? You'll probably get someone else to help u and correct the rep's previous mistake. Just don't mention anything about your sprint->T-Mobile>sprint port and hope they don't catch on.

If you ever run into dilemma just HUCA (hang up call again)

Does anyone know, once you get a pre-paid T-mobile phone number (but not fund the accout), how much time do you have until you port it out to Sprint BYOD?

Also, is Verizon iPhone 8s eligible for the Sprint BYOD? Is it 'unlocked' by default or do you have to 'unlock' it?
You should have up to 30 days, the time to fund the account, after which the account will be cancelled if not funded, BUT you should port asap.

The Verizon 8s should be eligible but if you put another provider's sim card in it and it works, it's unlocked.

I tried that also, I have a S8+ with Verizon, they checked the IMEI and confirmed it was on the list of approved devices, however, they wouldn't activate it as I did not have the correct sim card. I had purchased sim cards for the s6 and note 5.

I'd really like to see proof or evidence of anyone that has activated a nonlisted device directly through Sprint.
I got your proof... Right here. Stay on Verizon.

activated it with LG G5 that I bought from Ebay.
I did 2 lines with LG G5. Everything went well beside activation.

argh.. sprint said it is now activated but PHONES are not. it can't activated somehow.
Spent more than 3 hours with TECS support and 2 hours today at the store with tech guy .. but still no luck.

Used w466c & w416C series SIM Card but still no luck. both phones are having the same issue.

Sprint thinks the phone is not originally from sprint. I tried one line with my old IPHONE 5S and it works.

I need to return the the LG G5. arghhhh LINES are available but i need to find the phones asap.
Need phones for my parents in law.

We can't activate this phone online.
Sorry, please bring your phone to a Sprint Store so we can help.

Enter your IMEI
Hmm that is more ambiguous than I thought then.

I do not know. to be honest, how to interpret that.

I guess you can try calling again now that Ting has pushed it back to postpaid.

I called th number in the wiki and said the promo never said anything about the $150 and if they were sure it was for this plan and she said yes. I'll try a different rep.

Well just get the 416Q sim card for the S8+ then and you can do it. That phone is explicitly supported. That sim is in the Boost pack sold at BestBuy for $9.99. Then after you have that on, the others may go on more readily or you can swap them all on one at a time.

I have a Sprint S8+ and two LG Tribute HDs on, and I even got an ancient Dura XT flip phone with no sim on. None of these are listed as eligible. I started with the S8+.

I got them on twice in fact, on my original plan and on a replacement plan.

TeleSales is not the right one to do repricing if you acciount was already created..
I would do Billing chat.
Start small - ask for the activation fee to be waived.
Then get on one free line. Then worry about more later.

You call Telesales 866-782-8777 ONLY for that and add it to your plan and it is free. You have to port in a number as before with it. If you do in any other way it will be billable.

Yes try a different rep if they have not enrolled you yet. When you call tell them you want to enroll in the 1 year free byod promo. Then let them tell you the details to make sure it's the right plan. If not, try a different time and a different rep.
