Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

After an initial port in, and test of the service, can another number be ported in later on from virgin?

Yes some have done that. Should be fine.
So, I have waited the 48hrs as requested by Sprint, but when I check the number and imei on the Sprint website, it still says ineligible.. Is that something they can override by calling the porting department? Any help would be appreciated.

Freddiez is of course correct, and I would also note that porting in on top of the initial number may be risky. Some have succeeded but at least one other lost the plan doing that. Better in my opinion to port in the new number with another phone (or dummy imei), then swap numbers.

Well your situation involved an error with mixed up digits and a temporary number. I thought that was the extent of the problem.

Is the problem now the number or the phone IMEI?

I assumed that the phone activated ok on the temporary number. Is this not the case? If not, what was the point of the temporary number and the 48 hour wait?

What is the phone model and where did it come from? What do you get at the different checker at https://www.sprint.com/en/landing...hone.html.

You can never add a totally incompatible device that would not work. There would be no point. But first let's understand the nature of the problem better.

My guess is phone is active on BYOD temp number, so Imei fails checker. Old Number at T-Mobile.

Right if the phone is already active on the temporary number, he does not want to port it in overagain, he wants instead to explain the situation very clearly to tech. support (not telesales) and ask them to port in the original intended number to replace the temporary one. This should be ok in this case since Sprint recommended it.

BUIT he needs to fully understand all this in order to be able to explain it. And not guess at things. Only do this after verifying everything very carefully. Do not try different things.

I just ported to TMO, the IMEI is coming up ineligible even though the phone is no longer on my dashboard. Does this correct itself after some time? Yesterday porting in worked immediately.

Okay we'll start back at square one . :-) I originally ported out two numbers from Sprint into Republic Wireless and back to Sprint. One of the numbers ported back to Sprint just fine, but the second I entered had an inverted number, so the port failed. They actually called me because the port was not working and at that point I realized that the numbers were inverted. The rep try to help me and came back saying that they can see the number was originally from Sprint and went to Republic Wireless less than 48hrs ago. At that point I did a hang up and call back, and the next person was a little bit more helpful but ran into the same issue. Although, he was able to activate the line with a New "Temporary"(his words) number under the bring your own device free for a year. He said that if I waited 48 hours, that they would be able to port the number in. My concern is it has been 48 hours and when I checked on the promotional link on with a clean IMEI number and the number I want to port, it says ineligible, so I guess my question is: by calling, is is possible for them to override the ineligible situation as they said they could? Not sure if my situation is unique or not? Just frustrating that the one number made it just fine but the second one is a no-go; even though both numbers had the same scenario. It's amazing and sad that they caught it! 😔

Can you swap phone numbers after you get in the plan? How easy is it to do? My number is in porting limbo and so far it's been 24 hours and nothing has happened. Spoke to the reps and they said they have to wait for it to clear porting whatever.
So just in case my number hangs on the air for so many days, or have been ported successfully, can I replace a dummy number that's in the plan already with my own number? Am not sure if I have explained my situation right.

I do not think they were suspicious, just trying to look up the port history of the number to sort out where it was at. They do not care about the round trip but they do care if port outs and port ins might be overlapping each other or reflect a mistake.

Is the phone now working on the temporary number? Call it and see and try calling out on it. Or is it still on Republic?

Also please try the imei on the link I posted and let us know what it says. It is much better to sort out the specific situation than answer general questions.

I do not yet understand where we are at right now well enough.

Also try calling 866-437-1818 and enter both numbers into the automated prompt and see what it says the port status of each is.

Yes you can but I would not go cancelling things or get into the details yet because it is too complicated to get into that yet in your case if it is not needed. Do not talk to the sales reps about port status, call 866-437-1818 .
