Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I grabbed one of the new Boost Moto G6 Plays from Walmart and I was able to activate a new line on this deal with it. I also checked the esn with Ting and Tello and it was ready to activate with them as well. The $79 price is also $50 lower than the phone is listed for on the Boost Mobile website so it's a pretty slick deal.
I did this last night and the chat rep had to add the IMEI (whitelist) to their database. I was thinking about my process and steps from last night and I do remember checking the IMEI in the Sprint checker and it did say the G6 Play was eligible to activate. Like someone mentioned earlier, I think being able to activate this phone may have something to do with their database not being updated.

Wow just wow!

Did it go right on or did they have to white-list it manually?

I suspect what may have happened that allows this is that when Sprint puchased these, they jusy bought one big lot that failed to distinguish between IMEI's for Sprint versus IMEI's for Boost. This was once the case for iPhone SEs as I recall but only lasted for a while.
It went right on as far as I know. They could have added it to the whitelist without mentioning to me but it did pass Tello and Ting checks prior to calling Sprint.

You probably won't be able to move them off the Sprint network and then back on again??
I'm thinking once they are on they will be ok but it won't accept them at another time.

I do not recall that being a problem on Sprint in the past on the one or two occasions when this happened. On Verizon that policy has been applied on occasion.

Purchase the Boost Moto G6 Play and ask Sprint to add the IMEI to their database. I did this yesterday and I'm using the phone today on the Sprint BYOD. The phone is $80 at Walmart.

I have to assume that this phone is locked to Sprint/Boost etc and can't be used on another network?? Have you tried another sim card in it to see if would work on another network? I think you said you did and it didn't work. Looking at these phones--if Sprint pulls the plug on this deal for some reason --I surely don't want to be stuck with them. I haven't used their service in a long time but willing to try it for this price.

I've tried other SIM cards in it and it is locked to Sprint. I'm planning on calling Sprint to have it unlocked after 50 days. I'll report back at that time.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, except I'm going to ask in a week or two for the unlock. I know 50 days is required but I've heard that sometimes they will do it sooner if your account has been open for a while. I've had my account since last July.

Attached is a screenshot of the line with the Moto G6 Play. I noticed it says that I'm eligible to upgrade, but not a free upgrade like my other line. What does that mean there would be a service charge?

That upgrade eligibility banner will probably disappear in a day or two. My BYOD lines show that temporarily when new line is activated.
Very Slick deal getting the Moto on BYOD!

Yes every time they extend it recently they do two months at a time just for their own convenience in not having to do it so often. (This does not oblige Sprint to let people continue to sign up for another full two months but does give Sprint the flexibility to do so without going through another offer terms revision and web site update).
