Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

So I just went to Walmart and purchased a second Boost Moto G6 Play, to see if I could activate it on my second Sprint line. I just used the Sprint IMEI checker and it passed! I figured I would not get lucky with two of these phones. Tonight I will use another chat session and swap it onto my second line.

My daily driver is a Samsung S8 Plus, but I really like this G6 Plus. For me, I like the 18:9 ratio. It fits nicely in the hand. Definitely not as much horsepower as my S8 Plus, but I haven't seen any problems. I've been streaming live TV and it's very smooth and responsive.

I had to drive 20 miles to get this second phone. My local Walmart was sold out. I think each store only received a couple of these phones. Whatever the issue is with Sprint, being able to activate these phones is not a fluke. You should do this quickly before the activation stops working. I'm assuming that once you get it connected to the Sprint network, you should be able to activate it again and again.

What Genghis Khan said, also you can go to the Sprint store locator. Those listed as full service store are corporate.

We suggest aways using phone, not website, and the Call Center may be closed/closing but you can try calling. 866-782-8777 only. I do not think it is a good idea to do it this late. Porting dept. will be limited operation.

I have 2 of them here and also bought the Moto G5 plus just waiting for sim card. Ordered it from Twigby and they had promo today so it was free. Code WOUTFREESIM

I do not see any problem with activating them but I could not compare to other phones.

If you do want to activate them I would not wait too long as Sprint will cut that off at any time in my opinion. Could be a day or a week or a few weeks. Once they do cut it off, EBay value of unactivated ones will fall in my opinion. Who would want to have put them on Boost (which is the only use they will have after Sprint cuts this off)?

I will try activating the G6 Play tomorrow and will have the other one as a back up if I need it. I was hoping to do it today in case they change things tomorrow. I think the change will come very soon. I sure hope it can be unlocked because not so sure I would stay with Sprint either-- just have to get my porting numbers ready--haven't done that yet either but have some T Mobile sim cards here so hoping they will still work.

I doubt either Sprint or Boost will unlock them even after 50 days. They are Boost devices so Sprint will apply Boost policies in my guess. You *might* get lucky on that on a technicality but I would not count on it. It is almost never possible to unlock Boost devices until they have a year of paid service. That policy is usually displayed right on the outside of the Boost box.

Sprint's 50-day unlock policy has exceptions and weasel clauses that they may use in this case in my opinion. They may make it conditional on first paying off one full year of paid Boost service as required by Boost policy.

There are other Boost phones that people on XDA have been trying to root/unlock for over a year without success (e.g LS676). GSM-only unlock may be possible.

Then the Moto G5 + might be the better option--more flexibility down the road.

So, for the port out and port back in, we should use the Sprint BYOD checker to check the status of our device and number, right?

So, before porting out, the checker should say "not eligible", and after porting out, it should say "eligible", correct? And, how long does it take in between? Thx so much...

No. You dont have to swap. I moved from Android to iPhone when I ported the number. Just give the new iPhone X IMEI number when you port. No need to bring in the 5s at all

After all lines are ported out under one person's account/SSN, do you have to do anything else with Sprint to "close" the entire account? The lines are all gone, but the login still works, so wondering if you are still considered an active customer until you take further action.
