Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

So, for the port out and port back in, we should use the Sprint BYOD checker to check the status of our device and number, right?

So, before porting out, the checker should say "not eligible", and after porting out, it should say "eligible", correct? And, how long does it take in between? Thx so much...
I didn't check the website, but I ported out to T-Mobile took about 2 minutes. I then immediately hung up with T-Mobile and called Sprint to create a new plan and ported right back in. No issues

No. You dont have to swap. I moved from Android to iPhone when I ported the number. Just give the new iPhone X IMEI number when you port. No need to bring in the 5s at all
Thanks!!

So I just went to Walmart and purchased a second Boost Moto G6 Play, to see if I could activate it on my second Sprint line. I just used the Sprint IMEI checker and it passed! I figured I would not get lucky with two of these phones. Tonight I will use another chat session and swap it onto my second line.

My daily driver is a Samsung S8 Plus, but I really like this G6 Plus. For me, I like the 18:9 ratio. It fits nicely in the hand. Definitely not as much horsepower as my S8 Plus, but I haven't seen any problems. I've been streaming live TV and it's very smooth and responsive.

I had to drive 20 miles to get this second phone. My local Walmart was sold out. I think each store only received a couple of these phones. Whatever the issue is with Sprint, being able to activate these phones is not a fluke. You should do this quickly before the activation stops working. I'm assuming that once you get it connected to the Sprint network, you should be able to activate it again and again.

thanks
still debating on trying the Moto G6 play your thoughts now that they are going through??

I have 2 of them here and also bought the Moto G5 plus just waiting for sim card. Ordered it from Twigby and they had promo today so it was free. Code WOUTFREESIM
G6 Play Phone showed as eligible for the BYOD offer on the free offer web page.
Called today the BYOD offer dept. and added a G6 Play as an additional line. Everything went normally, NO wait time for whitelisting or any other issues, it was quick and normal just like adding another device line.

As it has been stated here multiple times this is probably a systems glitch that may be corrected at any time by Sprint/Boost.

Anyone porting from Google Voice lately and is it still working or am I better off porting from T Mobile? I had some T Mobile cards from a few years back and so far none of them worked doing it on the T Mobile website. Might work by putting them in the phone. I know I used these before for porting into Verizon.

I need a number to port INTO Sprint---nothing out of Sprint.

I ported a number from google voice about 2 months ago. Usually when I port numbers between carriers it takes under an hour. The google port in took a little longer but it was done in less than 3 hours but ymmv. Follow the instructions in the wiki and make sure you set up the pin on google before you start the port.

WOW what a horrible experience with their customer service. They wanted me to send in my brand new unlocked S9+ for a 50% towards a sprint branded phone. multiple people kept calling back even after I told them to not call back. Such a shit show sprint is running at the call center.

you're obviously only telling part of the story.

Literally thousands of people here at Slickdeals have been helped by Sprint's customer service.

btw, I personally don't care for foul language in public settings.

Need some help. I usually do my own homework but this thread is so long I don't know where to start. I'm a current Sprint BYOD customer until 7/31/18. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 unlocked (CDMA & GSM). If I port out now to Straight Talk (will it work with this MVNO?), I can get back into Sprint BYOD with my SS# for another year after 45 days. Does that sound right? Any knowledge or suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Here is the full story.

Received my S9+ today so I called Sprint to sign up for 1 year free. From what I've read, calling is better than signing up online.

I'm on lycamobile, but the guy didnt know what it is so I said it's a TMobile MVNO. Then he started telling me about TMO/Sprint merger for about 10 minutes which has nothing to do with why I'm calling. After running credit check he was trying to activate a new sprint sim I had. It wasn't working. So he asked which carrier the phone was on before unlocking. He didn't understand that the phone was bought unlocked/unbranded from Samsung. I tried to explain 3 different times. Eventually, he says how about we give you a sprint phone and you trade that phone for 50% value. He kept pushing to sell me their phone and trade this in. So I told him I wasn't interested, his manager called me and said sorry, let me fix this for you. He tried to activate the sim again and it didn't work.. he offered me HULU 1 year for free with Sprint 1 year service.. Again, they kept pushing me to trade my phone in. Eventually, the guy said since it's a BYOD device, I cannot get 1 year free service and that it's only a 1 month free service. I asked them multiple times not to call me back and they still called back 4 times.

I'm sure others have had great experience but mine was horrible.

The real issue is compatibility of your phone.

That is just a Sales telemarketing center and all they know is how to sell, not about phones in depth.

Maybe it is branded and not compatible. Maybe not. Samsung has not yet released brand-switching for S9/S9+ as it has for S8.

Please post the exact model number from the phone settings and whether it ends in U or U1 and we can help you resolve this.

Yes that's right. Just follow the thread for a few days for more tips. (Of course they could end the offer early though).
