Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

If I wanted to buy an iPhone 7 off eBay to use with this deal, do I buy a Verizon one instead of Sprint? Should I get an unlocked one to be safe?

TIA!

So I have an older Samsung Galaxy S5 from Verizon that says it's not eligible. I wanted a new line for a possible new business. On my Verizon line I have an iPhone 6s. Can I put my SIM card from my iPhone 6s to my old Galaxy S5 and then "activate" the new Sprint line with my iPhone 6s? And then when everything is completed, can I switch the sims back and have the Galaxy S5 as my free sprint line?

Basically if I use my iPhone 6s to "activate" the line, can I swap any phone after the fact?
NO.

Phone and SIM go together. With Sprint, you can't just swap the SIM to a different phone. You need to go through a change process (online, chat, Sprint customer service phone) and provide IMEI and SIM details ....

This question is asked and answered over again about once a day.

What it goes by is the end of savings date of your first line.

Check this on your Dashboard under Manage Plan / See Details

This will be slightly over a year from Dec. 2017 (could be 12 or 13 months).

If you could get a later date just by adding lines, which you cannot, people would not be setting up new accounts under a different SSN would they?

The telephone # for this free BYOD offer is the SAME in the beginning of the Wiki of this thread AND on the Sprint BYOD web site: Call to order 1-866-782-8777.

https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...phone=byod [sprint.com]

One should NEVER call the Sprint main sales # or ever go to a Sprint store inquiring about this BYOD free offer. ONLY the BYOD dept. can do this offer and it can ONLY be contacted at the above tel #: 1-866-782-8777.
You're asking for trouble contacting any one else/any other dept/store.

The Sprint BYOD free year plan dept. at the above tel # is open M-F 6am-11pm, and Sat/Sun 7am-11pm CDT.
I just got tripped up because the BYOD one year site directed me to a different number, right on that page

Basically yes but phones that have been on Sprint MVNO's will be rejected at first with a misleading error citing "money owed to Sprint". Search on LiterallyUnlimited in this thread for how to get around this. Also phones originally sold for Boost, Virgin or Sprint Prepaid etc. cannot be activated at all on PostPaid, even if they have since worked on Sprint mvno's.
Can anyone help me identify the issue with my phones? I have 4 Virgin Mobile ZTE Max XL phones I bought from Target. The first 2 I purchased was fine for adding to an regular non-free account as replacement phones after getting correct SIM's, the ones that came with did not work and phone agent helped me get new ones at sprint store.

Once they were activated once I was able to swap back to original phones on my paid line and use the ZTE's on port into new free lines. The additional 2 are not able to be used in my paid account. I already obtained what I believe are the correct SIM's. But these 2 IMEI are not allowing activation. Anyone know what needs to be done so I can use these 2 remaining phones? Or if I need to buy different ones is there something specific I should be looking for at the IMEI on the box?

One of the reps mentioned I can take the phones into Sprint store and exchange for different handsets. Has anyone done that before? Would this register as an upgrade? Would I own the phones?

TIA!

They are both the same hardware and has the Qualcomm chip. Only difference if the sprint one is locked then you need 50 days sprint service to unlock. Once unlocked there should be no difference. A locked sprint one might be cheaper though.

Yes, I'm finding out now that VM phones are not typically elegible for Sprint, so not really sure how the first 2 got in. Reviews for those phones are not the best, and I'm starting to see the issues others have posted about.

I'll try brining in the remaing 2 to sprint and see what happens but not holding my breath. And I'll probably just return those 2 if I cant get them exchanged. But once I got the first 2 VM phones into a postpaid account I was able to activate them for the new BYOD plans on new account. Which was the real goal, upgrading my e4's are just a secondary objective.

Coming from AT@T I see phone swaping and upgrading is much more challanging!

That's what I thought but I was thrown off by the "Verizon only" text.

Thanks for the clarification!

Boost , Virgin and Sprint Prepaid are all Sprint Prepaid brands and are never allowed on Sprint Postpaid (except for glitches). Those phones are sold at subsidized prices in exchange for a committment to remain on their respective prepaid plans only for at least a year. Normally this is stated on the outside of the box. They are not sold or supported in Sprint stores either (Rep knows nothing as usual - many like trying to pass all their problems over onto the stores).

Same thing is true of other carriers with their prepaid brands such as Metro in the case of TMobile. etc. Try moving a Metro phone onto TMobile or asking a TMobile store to give you a replacement for a Metro phone.

Another data point for successfully activating Moto G6 Play (from Walmart) on Sprint free line.
$80 well spent.
Very nice phone and aspect ratio is just amazing.
I initially tried chatting couple of times but that didnt work. Got it done on first call.

Thank you guys!
