FYI, the Boost Moto G6 Play is a more stripped down version as opposed to the Unlocked Version that will be sold retail (Best Buy, etc.).

1. Boost only has 16GB vs. 32GB of onboard storage (still has microSD)
2. Boost only has 2GB RAM vs. 3GB RAM.

So, still a good deal and a decent basic phone, but don't expect a ton of apps and will definitely need a microSD if you plan on taking photos/videos.

Wow, it gets better and better. So when you inserted the Verizon sim card, could you tell if everything works on Verizon, voice and data? Does it appear the phone has both cdma and gsm radios?
Voice and data worked on both Verizon and AT&T. You can choose between GSM and CDMA in the network settings without having to pull up the hidden menu but the phone switches automatically when you change sims.

That is working right now for that one phone right now if you call in but it is an exception and could die any time.
That also happened one single time for iPhone SE but that one died in a few weeks.

Most probably there is a secret unpublished exception for that one phone which could be for any reason such as
- Sprint IS selling these somewhere unpublished to some postpaid customers for some reason and they cannibilized their Boost supply to do so.
- maybe they promised Moto these would only be sold Prepaid at this price point and are cheating to make quota
- regular Moto G6 (non-Play) stock will not be avaiable until early June

No matter, buy one and activate it if you want while you can! With wifi calling working finally in this model this makes it very attractive relative to earlier models. Maybe that is why they are allowing them for now while waiting for the non-Play models due out in 2 weeks.
Is there a thread for how to make the g6 play work? I just got back from walmart with 2 and tried to do a phone swap in my account before even opening the box as suggested in posts here. However I get message saying this number does not match our records.

I also see another post about getting the gp play unlocked? one message just said to activate with sprint before opening the box...

Hi I just picked up 2 Boost play 6's from Walmart and the first one does not seem to be able to be added to my Sprint acct for phone swap. I have not opened the boxes yet, is there a thread or message with the steps I need to do to make these work?

Also sounds like this phone will work for ATT, Sprint, Tmob, and Verizon? If so this will be awesome for any future changes when my 1 year is up!

With the BYOD plan, I believe you have to do a phone swap via chat or phone call. The site won't let you do it directly.

Sprint is telling me to call boost to have the phone unlocked first. Is that what the previous post about unlocking is?

Just wanted to let the G6 play crowd know that mine is successfully unlocked. I submitted the request through chat on Wednesday and it went through this morning. I tried Verizon and AT&T sim cards and both worked right away.

Awesome!!!! I'm going to try that!! Thanks I really like the Moto G6 Play. I might return the G5+ as it does NOT support wifi calling.

I have one line already on this plan but want to add 2 more.

Do the new lines need to meet the eligible phone requirements and be a ported in number as well?

Yes to add you need to have devices and phone numbers to port from, along with the account information and PIN.

Did you mention to them that it is a Boost phone?

If not, then maybe the jig is up and they updated their databases.

Will an unlocking service like this work? I'm assuming BM wont unlock the phone for me until I use it for 1 year with them...

You'll probably want to hang on to your G5 until you get your G6 in. Picked up 2 G6 this morning and have not been able to get it onto my account yet. However I don't really have all information about the steps required for this dance...
