Did you mention to them that it is a Boost phone?

If not, then maybe the jig is up and they updated their databases.
Yes, she asked me where I got them, so I said they are Boost phones I bought. Maybe the window has closed??

You'll probably want to hang on to your G5 until you get your G6 in. Picked up 2 G6 this morning and have not been able to get it onto my account yet. However I don't really have all information about the steps required for this dance...
I haven't done it, but the prior posts suggested that it just activated as is with the IMEI and internal ICCID.

Don't mention anything about Boost. Just try chatting and say you want to switch phones.

Thanks! I was hoping to bring a old 4s on board.
Should not be a problem if it's a accepted Sprint handset and you have a number to port that's not sprint or anyone on their network I think...

Maybe I messed up one from trying online. I'll try chat and see if the other works.. I guess I have nothing to loose at this point.

Ok, I screwed up the first one. DO NOT try and activate the phone yourself.

My second phone works fine.

So either 1st one never worked or I screwed it up. Off to Walmart to return and find another... You might want to just activate before you leave the store...

Here's what worked for me.

Buy Boost Mobile Moto G6 play from Walmart or Target, box upc label actually says Walmart/Target, I bough from Walmart.
Use Chat to request a phone swap.
Just send them your details, IMEI, Sim card number, phone number ect,
After a few minutes rep on chat told me to turn on phone.
Opened box and turned on phone.
Enjoy slick deal!! totally slick and sick!

Thanks for everyone that helped in this thread, New back to sprint and this is AWESOME!

As mentioned from others, review on web say 32G/3G ram. Boost version is 16G/2G. I've had a older G4 something with 2G mem and seems to work fine. Also this phone is not bloated with software so I expect it to be nice. The size is also great, almost the same as my iPhoneX. I don't expect high end performance, but cant see how I will go wrong at $80.

K, so after 50 days of service I can request a unlock from sprint? Then be ready for the next deal?

It's anybody's guess. Theoretically they may refer you to Boost which requires one year on Boost. But somebody got one unlocked at Sprint after only a few days.

I would not count on all this flexibility holding up but no harm trying.

Thanks, I realize this is all YMMV, so I'll give it a shot in a few days. This reminds me of back in the day when there was a shipment of Nokia's that was never sim locked for some carriers that should have been was sold at the discounted price Smilie I'm happy now and anything else will be the cherry on top!

If I wanted to use the Google pixel 2 with this deal, can I use the Verizon edition since it's CDMA, or do I need the unlocked Google edition? does it matter if it's been activated before with another carrier?

TIA!

Just wanted to let the G6 play crowd know that mine is successfully unlocked. I submitted the request through chat on Wednesday and it went through this morning. I tried Verizon and AT&T sim cards and both worked right away.

How long have you been a customer---I'm a new customer not sure if they would unlock it for me. Did you just request them to unlock it or give them some reason for it? I guess it might be best to try and get it unlocked now vs waiting. All they can say is no.

I just added my 3rd line and rep said all 3 lines will have regular charges starting one year after the first line was opened, not one year after each line was opened...is that correct? I was under the impression that for each line it was one year after opened

They are right this time. You are wrong. But they have often given out wrong info in the past. This has been covered here hundreds of times.

Go to Dashboard / Manage Plan / See Details for each line to see the end of savings dates.

If you want a new start, start a new plan via a different SSN (spouse, family member etc.)

Submitted my unlock request for one of my Moto G6 Play's. Tried to do it via chat and they told me to call in. I called and the put in a ticket to unlock the phone. We'll see what happens.
