Any thought of trying a dual sim tray? I saw some old teardown info on older Moto G's saying the second sim slot was on the phone but blocked. Apparently Moto made just 1 board for older phones, not sure if they still do. However I found this teardown on a G6 play and looks like there may be 2 sim slots... I found another video on a play 6 from other countries that show a dual sim tray in the phone....

Feels like the G6 Play should have it's own thread, wonder what else we can hack on this phone?

Is anyone able to clarify how the upgrading process works after completing 120 days of service? I logged in but all I am seeing is full price devices with no options for payment plans. Any clarification is appreciated.

If I call the promo number since I have just bought a SIM card, will they ask me or have any problems if I'm porting from google voice? Or can I just "buy" the packaged sim with the deal and somehow activate the SIM card I just bought?

You can call the promo number and will be fine.

Don't waste your money by buying anything more than the sim card you bought (assuming it is the right one for your model phone - double check this on the web if in doubt).

GV is fine too (although can be slower to port in than TMobile)

You could call 866-782-8777 and they will explain the offers. They can be high pressure though. Do not agree to anything right away.

In general, wait for a while for a good offer while reading this thread. That is actually a better approach than calling them.

Right now the best deal has nothing to do with their upgrade offers but is what may be a loophole - Cheap Boost Moto G6 Play is being accepted (with arguing or lying that it is not Prepaid needed in some cases) even though Boost phones are normally not eligible. READ RECENT POSTS IN THE THREAD for details and cautions.

What caution about boost g6 play?
If it's being accepted, then it should be ok, right?

Looking for confirmation from someone using the Boost G6 play. Does hotspot work fine on this phone, with this plan?

Caution is that
(1) Some reps will refuse or question it unless you lie and argue (be sure not to mention Boost)
(2) Online signup may not work (not sure about this - best call instead anyway)
(3) They could cut off all acceptance of it at any time (so activate it without opening the box just in case - the info needed is on a sticker on the outside of the box)

But once you get it on, you should be ok. Otherwise, return it unopened.

Does anyone know the bands of Boost Moto G6 Play?
I google the specs, all of them are copied from unlocked Moto G6.

You sure it's dual sim? Looks like MicroSD + Nano SIM to me, just like the G5 Plus.

Obviously it'll be locked to Sprint bands only. What would you expect? That's why I don't get too excited.

people say Sprint unlocked their phone after 5 months. I'm planning to use the Boost Moto G6 Play on AT&T.
