Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

just for everyone's reference, i have a ATT iphone 8 plus and the sprint eligibility check does come up eligible. The only downside is LTE wont be supported and have to stick with 4G. On the flip side, you can always change the device which supports the CDMA bands (LTE) once you get the free service activated..

I hate bulky so i buy thin TPU cases for all my phones. Haven't had a screen crack yet. Usually a buck or two off the bay. This phone is so new China hasn't caught up yet.Smilie

I am not sure this would work at all.
Sprint does not support 4G other than 4G LTE.
Maybe you mean 3G but that is CDMA on Sprint.
Sprint voice is CDMA also.
And there is no CDMA LTE. It is just LTE.
And that model is not listed as supported.
Unless you have a different model than you think.

Thanks for the info. How reliable is the sprint IMEI eligibility check? I did check online before ordering and it came up as 4G supported and not LTE.

Just figured that i have A1864 model, which is surprising as it was from AT&T. They usually provide A1867, but i guess i am in luck Smilie

Exactly as I suspected.

Yes normally AT&T supplies the crippled Intel chip model but they have the option of supplying the superior Qualcomm chip model that can do everything (including TDD band 41 and CDMA and GSM etc. when those are in larger supply from Apple.

So I think you're in great shape.

I think it will support everything fine and that the warning about LTE is not correct.

Interesting.
So they sell 2 diff hardware but same price. Look like great money making scheme.
People pay $1000 for their iphone but get shitty CPU chip. But customers are happy because they get their new iPhone.

I don't even know there are 2 diff chip models for the same iphone model.

Definitely.

The problem is, Apple is practically at war with Qualcomm - they are suing each other all over the world - but Qualcomm has the only chips that can do more advanced modulation techniques such as needed for TDD band 41. So Apple has to buy Qualcomm chips but makes a point of using them only where absolutely necessary such as phones for Sprint and Verizon CDMA and TDD on Sprint and China Telecom.

Apple usually uses Intel chips wherever it can get away with it such as most phones for AT&T and TMobile, which can get by with them. Apple actually slows down the Qualcomm chip models so that they are as slow as the Intel ones so that all iPhones run equally slowly (otherwise everyone would insist on having the models with Qualcomm chips for the extra speed).

Any pointers for buying an iphone 6s (32gb+) unlocked to use with sprint? So far I see walmart has 16GB refurb for $180.....or ATT 32GB @ 9.99 per month for 30 months (have to go through the hoops of paying it off)....I am looking for a quick way to score an 6s other than ebay or swappa .....thnx

Ported in my number last week and everything is going good except that the G6 Play doesn't really for me. Is the IMEI all I need to check on before I buy a phone off CL to make sure it works on the plan?

Basically Yes, but you will find that most older Sprint phone IMEI's that should be accepted will in fact not pass intially if they have been on Sprint mvno's, because of a whole complicated situation involving the ownership flag, LiterallyUnlimited etc. Also (almost) all Boost (prepaid) models cannot be added at all. And many older Sprint postpaid models will be rejected needlessly at first for non-technical reasons.

Thanks. So I guess I should be looking for an non-Sprint phone to pick up.
