MY Moto G4 was on this plan for a few months without major issues. Starting a few days ago, the SIM was no longer working. Reboots will get the SIM back for a few minutes then "SIM not found" again.

I inserted a new Sprint SIM and the SIM status did not change for a long period. So the old SIM was probably dying.

Do I need to call the Sprint technical support to activate the new SIM? Can this be done online? Thanks!

You are implying folks have limited comprehension capabilities if the verbiage isn't spelled out in large red font? You my friend are indeed comical. This is my last post addressing your foolishness. If you don't believe how things are run at Overland Park then be my guest and indulge yourself in your own machinations. Either way we are getting the subs we need thanks to this promo.
sounds good

u have made enough foolish posts and i am glad u have decided to stop

do post if u have anything important to add

do not copy other peoples post and pass them as your own

give credit where credit is due

if/when S decides to have a "confirmed end date" , i will be happy to know what that is

until then:

limited time offer. it can end at any time

I have a question. Slightly off topic so skip if you want.
First, my theory has always been that this promo has outlived its intended life span because most people believe that Free is too good to be true, and indeed impossible, so they don't pursue it.
The $15 kickstart deal was killed quickly due to overwhelming response ( from what I read).

So why would they continue this BYOD plan when they could at least generate a few bucks with the $15 kickstart?
It kind of boggles my mind. BYOD has attracted tons of Ringplus refugees, (of which I am one). Not exactly the type of customer who will convert to paid later.
Just wondering

So I'm supposed to think about people reading backwards when I post? LOL

Murfreesboro is rural?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mur..._Tennessee
It is Tennessee's fastest growing major city and one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Murfreesboro is also home to Middle Tennessee State University, the second largest undergraduate university in the state of Tennessee, with 22,729 total students as of fall 2014.
In 2006, Murfreesboro was ranked by Money as the 84th best place to live in the United States, out of 745 cities with a population over 50,000.

TMO works perfectly there. BTW, I was 1-2 miles from I-24.

I wish I'd known that before buying. Never saw that in the thread for it. Any idea why it has problems? And it seems the other recent Moto phones would have that problem too.
I read the topic page by page starting from the latest page. That doesn't actually have anything to do with my suggestion that if you're posting about having a problem with a phone it's a good idea to put the model of the phone in the post.

I didn't say the city of Murfeesboro is rural. I said it's a rural area EXCEPT near the freeway..the city is near the freeway.

You should probably direct your query to ultrasoul. He seems to have unique insider insight on the inner workings of the mothership.

Anyhoo. Back on topic-ish. G6 Play is still being accepted on the one year free plan. Ported a number for my mom from Greatcall/Jitterbug. Yes, it's the old people phone service, complete with a "I've fallen and I can't get up" button on the home screen. The port took an epic 60 hours due to the holiday plus general short-staffing at Greatcall. But it did eventually go through. The phone call to add a line was only 17 minutes long from start to finish. You will need access to the primary phone on the account so they can send a security token by text message. I asked the CSR specifically NOT to add TEP to the line, and she actually respected my wish which left me stunned. Probably a good thing too since I can't modify the plan or services on the secondary line while examining it from the dashboard. I would have had to call in to remove insurance had they added it.

Im having a problem.
would like feedback/comments suggestions from the knowledgeable folks here on this thread.
background.
sprint customer. many years. always had sprint phones.

bought a orbic wonder a few days ago.
this is one of those universal phones that will work on all major carriers
(similar to the moto phones [moto g , i think) )
the wonder however is not as popular so troubleshooting is not that easy

got what i believe to be the correct sim card (SIMGLW406TQ)...although based on feedback here (SIMOLW406TQ) would probably work as well

tried to activate online.
the imei was accepted, but the sim was not.

contacted S and gave them imei number and sim card number.
phone activated fine as did the iccid from sim card

initially
i could either call and text (but no data) ..or i can get fast data (but no call or text)
i could not get voice mail (pushing holding 1)..or using *86

spent ~ 1 hour w tech support ,,but in end they couldn't figure it out.
they set up a call back for next day with level 2...which of course did not happen

in the meantime
there was a update to the orbic software that i downloaded
and viola
call, text and data work...and now i see VOLTE in top bar

however, still no voice mail (pushing holding 1).or using *86
i can get VM by calling my number (from the Orbic)

i am not very familiar with the APN settings, but i see what looks like 3 of them (see image attached)

so questions:

1. does anyone with this type of universal phone (orbic or moto phones) have the VM working with pushing/holding 1

2. do u think i need to delete the other apn settings...i really dont want to mess anything up on the phone now that it appears to be "somewhat working"

any comments welcomed

edit:

here is similar problems....i have same on my phone as the screen shots [lenovo.com]

How do you check when your free year is up? I looked in mySprint but can't find the information.

I signed up last July on the 15th but my billing cycle runs to the 21st so I was going to call in to cancel on the 14th.

*****NVM*****Saw that I had until 7/31 by clicking on plan details (last bullet)

I have no problem with your trying a new sim but IMHO this is far more likely caused by the pins in the phone getting slightly bent. This often leads to an intermittent problem.

In comparison to the fragility of the pins, the sim itself is practically indestructible.

If you do get the problem with the new sim, too, you will know. There is no easy repair but sometimes you can work around it by inserting a paper standoff or something like that.

in the meantime
there was a update to the orbic software that i downloaded
and viola
call, text and data work...and now i see VOLTE in top bar

however, still no voice mail (pushing holding 1).or using *86
i can get VM by calling my number (from the Orbic)
Did you check voicemail settings on the device.
Should be like under call settings, voicemail.
Hit phone to open dialer, should see 3 vertical dots, call settings, voicemail. Look in there to make sure your phone number is setup. Your phone may vary
Your SIM card should be fine. The 506TQ is just a retail byod card, 406TQ should be fine

Quote from DKTVPN :
I just couldn't resit to ask: where did you learn how to write in English? Have you finished high school?
I really like the creative style he has adopted using abbreviations like S for important nouns like Sprint that are already in the context, and short phrases.

It is novel but I find it refreshing. There is room for experimentation in the English language. It is obviously a carefully-thought-out style experiment and not poor diction.

By the way there is a spelling error in your own post.
