A variant that I use is, I tell them that if they insist on adding it, go ahead, and I will cancel it immediately after we complete this call. I find they back off if I say that.
I suspect they are incentivized to sell the protection plan, and don't care if you cancel. My 2nd rep actually told me to do this. I didn't press on why we couldn't simply not have protection plan to begin with, but I've worked with sales people and I got the drift.

Since this question seems to come up from time to time, I have added it to the wiki:

If going from Virgin Mobile or Boost to Sprint; do I have to use someone else's SSN? No you do not. Although Virgin and Boost are part of Sprint, their customer accounts are separate from Sprint Postpaid accounts.

Hey, at least it's not highlighted with lime green Wink

Well ultrasoul, I'm not sure what your problem is with rewriting the wiki every time someone adds something useful. Seems like you have pretty thin skin for someone in the white collar world. Or is your degree from MSU? Christ, get over yourself.

No. Even though Verizon LG G4 has the same technical band CDMA specs and could theoretically run on Sprint, Sprint has an activation whitelist which excludes all Verizon braned CMDA phones except for Motorolas and Apple iPhones
Verizon LG G4 does not appear to have any of Sprint's LTE bands 25, 26, or 41 or even Sprint's unique CDMA voice band BC10 so I do not see that it could even theoretically run on Sprint.

My free year is coming up. They just sent me an email regarding the new rates.
New line pricing after AutoPay is shown below:

Line 1: $60
Line 2: $40
Line 3: $30
Line 4: $30
Line 5: $30

I traded in an iphone for an iphone 8 and I am stuck through the end of the year making iphone payments for the trade.

Do I have any other options? I think it is way too expensive.

I am unclear on what you would like folks to tell you.
Sounds like you didnt think this through v well when u signed up for the iphone 8.
You said t was a good deal..but maybe it wasnt.
While 2 year contracts in the cell industry are rare now a days ,
there are device contracts which it appears u have .

Pay it off.

Consider all aspects of a deal next time.

The welcome email and text from T mobile did not show account number only phone number. I could not sign up My T Mobile to find out account number as the phone number was not recognized by T Mobile system. I had to call the T Mobile Prepaid CS. The account number is totally different from the phone number.

Quote from dontknow :
When you activated your T Mobile prepaid account online, did it send you an email confirming the account activation? Others have said it includes the account number, but I didn't get the email.

It's odd. T Mobile seems to have 2 systems now for prepaid. I transferred 2 lines last week at the same time, but one was a landline that took some effort and time.

The first line, from Sprint, had a different account number unrelated to my phone number. But the second line, a landline which took a week and several calls to transfer, has the phone number as the account number. During one of my calls regarding the landline transfer, they said something about there being confusion between the 2 systems that my landline account was being created in (1 for the initial port request, and another days later when they assigned me a temporary number as I was inquiring about the port request).

Was in the process of the spring->tmob->sprint switch and now stuck in limbo. Apparently the system Sprint uses to activate the BYOD on this promotion is down. Now my #s are with virtual tmobile sim and no cell service. They are suppose to call me when system is up but no estimated date/time. Don't start the out of sprint transfer until you confirm the BYOD system is back up

Is the system back up and were you able to get transfer back to sprint from tmobile?

(I have moto g5 plus) do i need to wait longer for my IMEI number to be released? (going on no service atm... sad)

Sorry your desi friend keeps screwing around with the wiki so I kept reverting it back to the original version. I've added it back. I'll make sure your added info will be in the version I keep reverting back should our desi friend keep editing the wiki.
