I signed up last night and the website stated it ends 9/30/19, but my terms say it ends 7/31/19. Chat said Phase 7 of the program ends today (plan ends 7/31/19) and Phase 8 starts 7/13/18 (plan ends 9/30/19). Is anybody showing 9/30/19 as the end date on their plan terms. This plan is great, another 2 months would have been even better.
thanks for the info. i'll be porting out to my dad's verizon account soon and might port back to sprint for another year under wife's ssn. that will take me a few days (5 lines) so i'll report back once the new account is created (i'll be sure its no earlier than tomorrow based on your post).

Yes, if you sign up today , will get near 14 months.
I signed in 6/1/2018, and it says expire on 7/31/2019 , so I should have over 13 months.
People signed up yesterday, would have over than 12 months.

Yes thanks, I'm thinking of porting to my dad's verizon account. do i need to wait 1 day or so before porting back to sprint? I think this will be easier for me than signing up for tmobile which i never dealt with before. i don't mind paying a few bucks for a day's of service with verizon Wink

Thanks for all this precious information. I signed up yesterday and finally got my Moto E4 activated today. The trick was going into the carrier menu and forcing a manual network update. For some reason that fixed the hidden menu invalid SIM error. There may have been some magic the Sprint representative had to do on their and as well. I'm getting speeds of 8 Mb per second down and 3 Mb per second up which is quite a bit slower than my Verizon phone but should be okay..

For comparison from the same location my Verizon data speeds are 30 Mb per second down and 14 up.

Voice works,, texting works, but even though speed test works data doesn't appear to work. I may have the dreaded IPv6 problem, which will necessitate another phone call to Sprint but I don't have the patience to deal with it today.

I agree with Desi that that would just be an error.

I do not recall any period where the period was less than a year. In fact there never was any such time.

Chat with customer service (not sales) and ask them to correct the end of savings date to honor their advertising which stated at all times that you would get a free year.

But with the new end of savings date of 9/30/2019, it may not matter anyway if you are planning on rolling over soon, depending on how the dates work out.

Post-edit. As edog11 points out, it goes by the date you activate the FIRST line on the account, not the later date you added a given line.

Any idea if the SIM is device/IMEI locked. What if I get the SIM activated on a random device now and switch to a new unlocked phone later

Yes it is locked and even further, it does not even go by sim ICCID at all on Sprint.

It goes directly by IMEI. You cannot just move a sim to shift service.

But you can swap IMEI's on the dashboard inside a minute (with chat support involved) so it is not a problem.

Anyway different Sprint devices require different sim parts.

When you signed up was it new account or an extra line on someone else's BYOD account.
Edit it looks like you had problems with being on the wrong plan at sign up. Also problems when activating iphone X in store and they changed plan.
It may be possible when trying to switch you back to free plan they used original end date(7/31/18) of initial promotion. Is your iphone X line ending 7/31/18 or all lines on account.
Edit 2 looks like Iphone X in store plan change caused problem. Glad you got fixed.
