How is this process done? Do they notify sprint? Thanks
either that..or apple has some database of imei where they swap the damaged one with the new one....it happened seamlessly so truthfully i didnt bother to inquire about the process

i cannot imagine them actually calling S..but i really dont know

i had to do it twice on 2 separate phones both ip6

in 1 the battery expanded so much that the screen was separating from the body
took it to apple store and they swapped it immediately w ip6
i had to pay $29

the other time, iphone 6 was not responding to top 1/2 of screen
same thing, but this time $150.swapped w ip6s

Need a hand here Slickdealers......my wife did the promotion with an I phone 6 and it worked flawlessly and then her phone went tits up shortly there after....Went to the Sprint store today and they said its not repairable. With this promotion what are her options to get a new phone and not lose the free one year service? Can we buy something off of ebay (maybe a 6s) to hold us over until later in the year when we can buy something new and current. What do we need to look for in a replacement phone? Locked vs unlocked? Since its BYOD do we need to buy a non sprint phone or since we've already ported over and the service is active does it not matter?......Counting on somebody to save the day and give us some good advice....thx in advance.
Quote from drparty :
Yes. Just get any phone on the byod list (hint this list is stickied at the beginning of this thread). Use the online sprint chat to sim swap to the new phone. I would specifically get a Verizon or sprint variant iPhone if you want to stay with Apple, but any iPhone 6 *should* work.
actually , now that u have a S account u can swap the phone with ANY phone that is compatible with S...not just what is listed on the BYOD list

so to clarify:
1. the byod list is mostly phones that are compatible w S from other carriers, since that is the point, u will likely NOT have a S phone on another carrier

2. once u are on S, u can swap with any S device

final thought : do not go to S store, they are quite useless and will rarely help the 1 y F customers

best option. get something from ebay or CL...if a sprint phone make sure it is free imei and not have money owned etc

Can the whole process be completed online? I'll pay the money for the SIM card if I can avoid having to call them and fail the wallet questions with another ssn.

Is hotspot completely disabled for you?
I went to settings-->cellular--> personal hotspot and it just kept spinning. I will have to try it later.
I googled it and someone said "to clear that problem just fill your internet tether with the same entry you have given in your apn settings general - cellular - cellular data network - scroll down to internet tethering fill the APN entry space with the same you have filled for your cellular data apn."

I don't have time to work on it now but I will let you know if you are still interested.

It looks like there is no hotspot. I reset my cellular data and i clicked "set up personal hotspot" and then it said to enable hotspot on the account to contact Sprint.

For those porting via Tmobile digital sim, just curious how long it took?

I just called Tmobile customer service to port and rep said it would take 24 hours? Does it really take that long and how do you know if port to Tmobile has been successful?

Also, can Tmobile digital sim be reused to port in multiple numbers?

Thanks for info - looks like port already went through.

What is best number to call for this promo since I see a couple numbers listed in Wiki...especially if I'm trying to port number to Boost Moto G6 Play from Walmart deal. Can I do it online?

Is anyone using an unlocked Galaxy S9 on this plan? I'm wondering which simcard is needed. I currently have a SIMOLW506C sim card.

If you would have searched this thread with keyword 'S9', you would have found this: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=117041259&postcount=21040

And yes, either 406 sim will work.

Order from Twigby for 2.99 https://www.twigby.com/shop/twigb...s/simcards
