How do I get two free lines on one account? I'm about to switch my wife from Cricket using her SSN but would like to port my line out of the current Sprint plan and then bring it back with her new account.

Our free year is almost up 9/30. My brother and I both went through Sprint's credit check however the account is under my name. Will we be able to get another year using his SSN this time around?

No we just discussed that at length (read back a page or two).

It was dropped effective July 13 for new accounts.
The change of features for the free plan is totally unorganized with Sprint. The website about the free year still says it includes 1080p streaming and 10GB hotspot, but people here are saying and have confirmed that now there is no hotspot for new free year sign-ups. I JUST NOW got off a Sprint chat and they confirmed that 10GB hotspot is still included. What the hell?

oh my

you need to use the ssn of someone not previously a sprint customer [in the last 45 days]

if u are using another ss number:

logic would indicate that the account would be in that persons name

logic would indicate the credit check would be against that persons ss #
Where does it say 45 days? I see it in the wiki, but nowhere on Sprint's site.

Chat reps are not authorized to deal with the free plan. Call the number given if you want reps who are.

Our wiki and outline both reflect the new details (thanks to hodaddy and others).

The main Sprint page has been updated to reflect the new feature set in 2 out of 3 places, including the main graphic.

It is Sprint's business practice for many years. It does not need to say it on the web site (although it may say it somewhere).

This offer is open to "New Customers." It is their company-wide interpretation of what "new customer" means. New in the last 45 days.

Call and ask for Account Services if you want to have a LONG conversation or argument about what you think should be the definition of "new customer."

I think they intended it to be generous. Sprint is 45 days. TMobile is 90 days. Verizon is 60 or 90 days.

Had to hop on this to save a little money. Verizon has better coverage yet so far so good. I thought I could set it up online. Nope, took an hour over the phone.

Regarding the hot spot --

Per the wiki, it appears they got rid of it sometime around July 15th. It appears that if you signed up for the plan prior to that, any new lines you add to the same plan puts you under the older terms+conditions so you still get the hot spot

For example, I ported in 2 lines in on June 28th and was approved for 5 lines total. Those 2 had the wifi hotspot capabilities.

I then ported another line June 22 to be my #3 line. It also has the hotspot capability. I am testing it by typing this message.

Agreed. Nothing changes in pre-existing plans.

The new offer was effective July 13 for new takers.

The provisions of existing plans are frozen in the plan documents of those plans, and that includes explicit provisions governing adding new lines. New lines are added under the provisions of your existing plan. That also includes the original end of savings date from when the plan was originally opened. If the lines were being added under the terns of the latest offer, then they would have the latest current end of savings date in the new offer. But that is not the case.

FYI guys I had my iPhone stolen and had to go to the store to get a new sim and swap meid. Pita. Store can't activate a sim on this plan. She was nice and gave me two sims since the first one didn't work and she logged onto my account via the web on my phone and activated it for me. So if you got to go the store for anything expect weird looks when they try. Best freaking deal.

I swapped a device on the plan because the phone got broken and we bought a new eligible device from a third party. I then went to a Sprint corporate store and got the compatible sim. The only info I had was from Sprint chat was that it would cost $30 to swap the device because it had never been on Sprint before. I thought it was odd, but the free deal saved so much money, I was wiling to pay. I called the number in the wiki and they kust took care of ot without issue. They didn't even mention the $30 fee so I stayed silent about it. The supposed swap fee never ended up on the bill.
Thanks Rolanda. You maybe just lucky, but for me I have called Sprint to explain my situation and got all kinds of crap. It is probably rep dependent. I will try to call again today. By the way there is an option to do it online. I was wandering did anybody try to swap online using the new SIM for the new phone and keep the free plan?
