Thanks. I already failed to use my mother's SSN to re-up because she failed the wallet questionnaire after I had to extemporaneously get my her on a 3-way call. I'm using a friend's SSN to re-up, and want to avoid calling if possible. If I am going to have to call in due to something like that, it'll be nice to know beforehand (i.e. in the case of the online route telling me I have to call to verify info, I can go ahead and get my friend on the phone and prepare him).
Despite the fact that they will have told you on the phone that you have to wait to try again, you can actually retry your mother's quiz right away by calling the Credit Dept directly at 800-639-6116 and ask them to have a Supervisor approve it. They will usually use different questions, this time based only on the credit report. This is different than dealing with them via transfer from TeleSales.

That's awesome. Thank you. How would I proceed from there? Would they just connect me back to telesales after the approval?

Yes they will, or they will tell you that you can just call TeleSales as your application status will now be marked "approved by credit dept" (which is what happens anyway when they transfer you back) and telesales will not bring them in further.

OK. Just asking to confirm because I have a friend who is skittish about the process of going to the Sprint free plan from Credo (a Sprint MVNO) via the T-Mobile virtual sim. Her phone is a Samsung Galaxy S6. Since it's on Credo, we know it works on the Sprint network. The IMEI checker even says, "This phone is already on Sprint."

So, after porting out the number to a T-Mobile virtual sim, she should be able to port over to the Sprint deal and still use the Sprint sim currently in her phone from Credo, correct?

You figure it out? With Tmobile the account number is 11 digits, just 1+ the10 digit phone number. The pin I was assigned (without asking or telling) was the same one I used at sprint.
Yeah, I figured it out by going to the store. NO, my 4 account numbers were not 1+ 10-digit phone numbers, instead they were 8-digit numbers, completely unrelated

Weird. Maybe they changed things recently... or were they not prepaid lines? I just took the following for granted a couple months ago when I did it, and it worked fine (the 1+phone number).

I used the digital SIMs to port out and then port back in.
4 lines, all with 4 different numbers

As long as Credo releases the phone ESN you're good. Some MVNOs fail to release the device from thier service so Sprint can't activate.

I would just let the credit check go where it goes. They sometimes give an identity verification quiz too. They would not let you specify which bureau to use.

If there is a credit problem, which there may or may not be, just post here afterward as we know workarounds.
I may just unfreeze the two that are frozen and then refreeze. I think it is free to do that on the apps I have for them

Thanks. It still doesn't show up when I search on my own. Worse, even if I follow your link, it says I can't install it because it's blocked by my carrier!

Everyone here has the same carrier, right? Why would this work for everyone else but not me?

More importantly, does anyone know how to get around the block, or know of any other ways to Wi-Fi tether for more than 10 GBs?

I have an LG V20, if that matters.

Since the phone has been on a Sprint MVNO, you will get an error "Money is owed to Sprint" at first.

Search for posts from LiterallyUnlimited in this thread for details and the solution, which involves contacting LiterallyUnlimited on reddit and he will push the phone back to Sprint Postpaid ownership from its current status of MVNO ownership. It will have to be off Credo first.

Also an S6 may or may not be too old to pass the checker at first pass but you will be able to get it on one way or another (worst case swap it on).

You may want to ask credo if they can reset the phone to the Sprint postpaid network. If not then please follow comintels advice

Probably it is because I already have it purchased in my PlayStore account.

There are no equally good alternatives unless you can root, in which case use Wifi Tether Router which is actually better: https://play.google.com/store/app...r&hl=en_US

You can also install PDANet+ in other ways. See for example
