I have 20 days or so before I can request an unlock. I use T-mobile as my primary so I definitely test it out on the Boost Mobile Moto G6 Play to see if it is indeed truly unlocked.
Great we will look forward to hearing more when the time comes!

My iPhone was damaged and so, I got it replaced at the Apple store. The Apple employee replaced the phone on the spot, inserted the existing SIM from the old iPhone into the new phone but couldn't get it to activate.

Called 800 number, they asked me to get a new SIM and activate at Sprint store. Went to the Sprint store and they gave me a new SIM but said they can't activate it or I'll lose the one year free plan.

Call the 800 number again, they were closed. So I tried to do it over the automated system and they system asked me to call when Sprint is open. What a PITA

What did I do wrong?

You did not and do not need to do any of those things.

Just sign into your Dashboard and swap the phone IMEI by clicking on Activate on the listing for the current phone. It will link you to chat to complete.

Any of the sims you have (including the old one or any other) can be used provided it is the same model phone as before (as I assume it is). Just enter the ICCID of whichever sim is in the new phone when prompted.

You can do it right now.

Do not call TeleSales again as it has nothing to do with Sales. You can call regular support if you feel you need to, but you do not need to since you can do it online. If you do feel the need to call, it is best just to say you want to do an IMEI Swap and avoid getting into the whole story of phone broke etc., which will only confuse them.

Quick question, hopefully someone can answer. I was looking get an iPhone 5S and activate under this plan, I used the IMEI checker(from the promo link) and it says that the phone is not eligible. Now, I have tried this with another fun that is on the list; that didn't work either. Any advice? Thanks!

So i was able to use a boost mobile Moto G6 Play from walmart. I already had a account, I just told the guy I had a Moto device, the esn wasnt in the system, They said they would add it. So i ended up hanging up, i then put my sim in from my old phone and reset it and the phone promoted me to switch over my phone to the Moto G6 Play and it worked
You did this to replace the existing phone on your Sprint account? What did you do with the old phone (discard or somehow add it back to the account)?

I will be done with 1 year of free service from Sprint this month (july) end. I am planning to move to Simple Mobile. After 45days, I want to come back to sprint (another 1 year free). Is Simple Mobile eligible for this 1 year free service porting?

Thanks for the ongoing update!

A poster on Howard Forums at https://www.howardforums.com/show...st17011946 is skeptical that you would really have fully unlocked access that would allow access to the bands of other carriers.

If you have time sometime, could you possibly test with another carrier's sim (if you have one from another phone) and see if you can access the bands of a non-Sprint carrier?
I would be happy to do it if I can find other sim cards to use. At this point I might be able to use a Verizon/Total Wireless if I can slow the owners down long enough to make the switch but I don't have access to anything else.

I will definitely keep it in mind and see if I can do a switch when I'm with someone on another network.

I would not bother unless it is convenient as another poster said he will be eligible in 10 days and he said he is a big TMobile user.

Thanks!

Did you look at the eligibility list on the Sprint site (to get the most up to date one)?

It is explicit that only the Verizon 5S is eligible, (Or of course Sprint 5S).

Stupid noob question, but ...

How did you folks get the IMEI # without turning on the phone?

I just got the moto G6 Play in today from Boost. No IMEI # on the box anywhere. I don't feel like turning on the phone in case it might activate on accident.

I've tried adding a number to the MEID but it's not valid when I used the checker.

I've looked all over this thread. What number do I use to call T-Mobile for porting over from Sprint to extend my free service from Spring for one more year? What number do I use to port back to Sprint from T-Mobile or do I just use the link for the BYOP on Sprint? Sorry, but I do not want to call the wrong phone numbers and have my porting messed up. Thank you.
