Gotcha. But Verizon iPhones are still completely unlocked out of the box, right?
Yes they are often recommended for that reason.
That is changing a little though....
https://www.theverge.com/2018/2/1...nge-policy

In the case of a fully paid-off phone, Sprint will unlock after 50 days, which is not bad.

Got charged $13 for protection even I did remove it in my account and confirmed with a chat agent. I did one more time chat and they said they will credit back to my visa next billing cycle that happens to be in 3 days. I'll update later, wish me luck!
I believe they rarely cancel a charge after the first day, they just add an offsetting credit which appears separately. Basically they are saying the charge was legitimate but they are issuing a credit as a goodwill gesture.

I do not find this satisfactory on their part but I think that is their idea. That way they book the revenue (and probably pay the commission) but incur a goodwill expense. This probably looks better on their books (higher total sales).

Just to clarify, are you saying that the credit was not issued at all the first time, or that it may have been issued but not yet applied to your invoice right away?

The ideal thing is to cancel it same day and then I believe it never appears at all.

For me, this appears to be correct. On one phone, I agreed to the TEP plan, but cancelled after 2 days. Sprint said the total charge (minus the two days) will be credited on my next bill. I added a phone today and the TEP plan was added without me really wanting it. I waited for the phone to show up on my account (about an hour) and then cancelled the TEP plan via the Sprint website. I just confirmed with chat that it is no longer on my account and I will not be charged.

Do I have to get new SIM cards if I ported out to TMobile with a digital SIM and now want to port back with a different SSN?

No you should use the same sims. To do so you will have to call rather than activate online. (Please read Wiki).

Thanks - I think that would necessarily be a band 41 capable iPhone 7 and so, I completely agree, there is no real excuse for Sprint if it does not perform well there!

I have two lines on Spring BYOD plan... Looks like the deal is ending today so i would like to add one more line for my child. Here is what I am looking to do:

1. Upgrade my existing iphone 6 to an iphone 8 (going to pick it up this afternoon.... it is a sprint phone)
2. Add a new line and use my current iphone 6 as a 3rd line.

What would be the easiest way to accomplish this. Thanks a bunch in advance!

Well if you swap it on you will have two lines total. If you add one, you will have to port in a number but you will then have 3 lines which is good if you want that . That is the only difference apart from which phone ends up on which number. But you can always swap numbers later with tech. support (not Sales in that case).

Might as well go for 3 if you want 3. You can get a number to port on Ebay by searching "number for port". Portmasterxx is fast.

I doubt the deal is ending today. There are some indications to the contrary. Why don't you call 866-782-8777 and see if they can reassure you? But absolutely no harm in going ahead as if it is!

No, not at all the first time and already paid my visa charged of $13.

I didn't cancel the first day of activation.

I did chat to confirm after removing the TEP online the first time but still got charged and had to call in to have credit back, but who knows what'll happen it would work this time or not.

Thanks... I do want to ADD one more line making it total 3. Just called the call center and was told they don't have a firm end date for the promotion which is good since I am already in this program for last 8 months.... Going to 'port out' and port back under wife ssn, so here is one more question:
Should I add the 3rd line now and then 'port out' and bring all three back under wife ssn OR Renew (ie port out/in) the existing two under wife name and at that time add the 3rd line.

Lastly, what is the best way to port out for renewing one additional year?

I called Sprint to port in a verizon line and get the $8 per month promo. I got shot down saying the 1 year free plan does not allow discounted phones. If anyone has managed to get the iphone 8 $8 a month deal on the 1 year free plan, please elaborate.
