Sometimes, I feel like I'm making a mistake not hoping on this deal. I currently use T-Mobile but rarely use the cellular network in buildings regardless of reception. I use the WiFi network for better coverage.

Could potentially save $130 a month (including taxes and regulatory fees).

How do I test the Sprint Network without compromising my current line of service (without porting)?

Can I port in from a MNVO instead?
Yes. Any non Sprint mvno. Might want to read the wiki.

That was someone else's bill. My promo ended on 7/31//18 but I closed account before next billing cycle started which was to be 7/28/18.
Since you are in billing cycle that includes 7/31/18, either your final bill will be $0 if you leave before next cycle or there is a small chance they could charge you at new rate from 8/1 to 8/21(end of cycle) as additional unforeseen charge, but really just speculating on that.

The question I have for SD'ers is do they charge at the new rate mid-bill cycle? Logging in to Sprint there is now a change where I see:

Unlimited - Bring Your Phone - Line 1: $65; Line 2: $45; Line 3-10: $35.; Line 11-99: $30. Unlimited Anytime Minutes. Unlimited Messaging. HD Streaming. 10GB Mobile Hotspot. International Text from US. Sprint Global Roaming. Eligible for $5 per line/per month AutoPay discount for Lines 1-10

under the plan details. But I still see $0.00 under Recent charges under Activity since Jul 21.

I am worried I am now paying a rate of $145/mo plus tax/fees for 3 lines instead of $13. I know some here will tell me just to port out. But I did try that with Tmobile and kept getting hung up on for some reason and now just want to know what my Sprint daily rate is until 8/20: $6/day or $0.50/day?

I have been following this tread for a while but today(Aug 1) I did sign up for this plan. Over last year, I was using Virgin mobile 1 year free plan and it was expiring at the end on this month. Followed the procedure as mentioned in this thread and everything went smooth. A few details that might be useful to others.

1) The Sprint page only lists AT&T and Verizon. I was worried that Tmobile might not work - but it did. BTW i followed the procedure of buying a digital sim from ebay and ported from Virgin to tmobile (called them - not online). Did not add any money to my prepaid account.

2) I was also worried that they might deny a prepaid account but they did not.

3) I did not buy sprint sim(that saved me about $15). I just reused the Virgin mobile sim.

4) I did everything by phone by calling the numbers listed in this thread.

5) The Sprint representative did confirm that $30 activation fee is waived and pushed hard for the phone insurance - but I kept saying no. Finally I said that I already have a square-trade warranty on it before the operator relented !!

6) I still need to now go online and signup for my account to setup auto-pay. Will do that later. Phone seems to be working fine.
This worked for me. Thank you!

Anyone who switched from the Virgin 1 year for $1 plan notice any differences with Sprint service? Anything extra included??

I finally got my phone fully switched to T-Mobile and it is now showing up fine to switch to Sprint 1 year free and Virgin 6 months for $1.

Since 6 months at Sprint charges taxes based on a higher amount, it would run me about $30+, so I am thinking about doing Virgin again and then just seeing what kind of deals are around in 6 months.

Thoughts???

My feeling is you will be prorated at the new rate. I would Port out ASAP. Call billing Dept if you want to confirm. If you don't want to call TMO, you can always do it online. I think it costs $3 and tax. Must provide your own sim number. Link in wiki.

Wifi calling works on my sprint J3. Started plan on July 22.

Make sure the 911 address is updated to provision wifi calling.

Read through wiki and couldn't find an answer: For those of us with the promo ending soon, is the promo end date what it says when we login to Sprint or the last day of the billing cycle? For ex., my account says promo end date 7/31/18 but my billing cycle doesn't end until 8/20/18. One Sprint Rep said there was no prorating so I would still get BYOD free until 8/20/18. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

i am not sure many wil have the answer to such unique situations...

my guess...u will be on frree plan from 7/20 to 7/31...then at current rate ($60?) from 8/1 to 8/20

i would port out now..and port back in

dont sweat the ~10-15 days at the risk of another year

just my 2c

My billing cycle is on the 6th of every month and my BYOD free year promo ends July 31, 2019. When should I port out my number to close my account before regular pricing kicks in? I was always confused about that.

After port out the free program for 45 days, I can port back in using same SSN and Sprint will consider as new customer? Anybody can confirm this is true or not?
