Yes as long as you do not signup on line. Call 866-782-8777 to sign up once you have a sim in hand.

Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
You know a company is desperate when they start giving away free service.

They do need to keep the subscriber count up until the merger closes or fails but don't forget they also make a lot of money from people falling for later phone "upgrade" special offers, buying phone insurance (which they pitch hard), and people converting later to a whole variety of paid plan offers they will pitch including KickStart and "5 lines for $100", with more to come. We do see posters here converting to those to get hotspot and 1080p streaming etc.

This might end up being a smart marketing move. Also they need to grab low-end subscribers as they may have to sell off Boost to get the merger approved.

I think they should pay people around $50 per month to use their service. Unless of course you need to contact customer service and listen to their incompetence and lies, that should be an extra $50 per instance.

Well, they did some math. Most carriers actually don't make any money off of their new customers in the first year because the carriers need to make back all of the advertising costs first. By only advertising the deal online and through word of mouth, they gain subscribers at a fairly steady, but not overwhelming rate, and customers are enticed by a free year. It's basically a wash. They are just getting new customers using a different angle. Actually, a really clever one.

Probably a lot of people don't answer their phones.

They called during the setup process to make sure the line was working before ending the original call. Glad they did because one of the phones needed a PRL update and I probably would not have figured that out on my own.

Yes I have had them do that or offer to do so.

Often someone calls a week or two later as well to "see if everything is going well." Of course these have a sales motivation.

Awful company awful service
I lost 5 precious years of my life using their service (lack thereof) and won't go back for free even. Speaking with customer service was my second full time job those 5 years. Pitiful company

Sorry you had such a bad experience (but why for five years?). That can happen with any company. My experience with Sprint for almost a year in has been quite the opposite.

Oh wow. I was wondering why people were quoting posts from over a year ago. Some numbnut mod put this back on FP!

If they're gonna do that, they should at least have the decency of editing the OP so that it's up to date. Heeeeere comes a fresh round of repeat questions!
