good luck. I have activated prepaid sim on postapid, cancelled postpaid line and reactivate (re-use) sim on tablet line in the past. That's why I said they are all the same.

When you try to activate the sim, tell TMO specifically that you want to start a Pay As You Go plan. You will then have the option of porting in a number or they will assign you a new number. You don't need to add any funds to the plan. You can tell them you want to do that online after your account is setup.

The correct valuation of having to deal with dropped business calls, spotty data service, and daily headaches in general is where Sprint pays me to use their service. It's seriously that sh*tty.

Yes, first world problems.
This post is word for word like hundreds that have come before, (really) since day one. We are now 1577 pages in.
Sprint doesn't work well everywhere. Not really headline news.
Works great for most though. Wiki has a list of zips and their respective speeds.
Someone was complaining about Verizon a few days ago in here.

MetroPCS threads are full of posts decrying the "crappy" service and how to unlock those phones to run on T-Mobile ( same network, go figure).
Anyone considering this network or any other should check local service first. If travelling get Fi.
My opinion and you're welcome to it

Absolutely! I just read a YouTube comment that said that the person had nothing but trouble from Sprint for 19 YEARS! What?! Why?!

This deal is the perfect opportunity to try Sprint for yourself. If you don't like it, you can just move on to another carrier without penalty.

I moved to Sprint from Metro PCS, by the way. The only issue I had with them in over five years was that they were not free like this Sprint deal now. I'll probably move to the Verizon network with Red Pocket Mobile when the year is done, but I'm sure enjoying free for now.

Moved my wife's phone over from Mint SIM. Had to call because I needed to do it today before my wife's plan renewed. Customer service was painful. a 15 minute procedure took an hour. I would avoid it if you can. Also, they will push the service plan for $13. I signed up and intended to cancel but was unable to cancel online. Will have to call and cancel.Good deal though. Thanks, OP! Almost forgot, they wouldn't take my old sim. Had to go to sprint store and get a new one.

No because it is a Sprint MVNO, according to a prior poster who tried.
Thanks. However, it's also Tmo MVNO, is it possible to port in TextNow GSM number?

One hour to setup the free plan sounds like the norm here. Fine with me for a free year. As far as the device protection for $13, I was easily able to cancel online within hours of setting up the account. Confirmed cancellation with chat so I could have a record of the cancellation emailed to me. Word here is that some reps make it more difficult for you setup your account if you decline so it's best to just let them put it on and cancel later. I guess I was fortunate because only one rep out of my five lines really pushed the issue. The other three dropped it after I said no thank you.

I updated the steps to include the T mobile account details if it helps others. To your question, yes each phone line has its own pin for Tmobile pay as you go/prepaid.

1)First, have your Sprint account number and PIN ready.
2) Order the Tmobile prepaid/pay as you go SIM card from Amazon. Its around $8.95..Chose one day shipping and pay extra $5 to get it the next day.
3) You don't have to recharge/reload the SIM. Once receive the SIM, call Tmobile customer care and ask them to port your sprint number to Tmobile. Just give them your Sprint Acc. no, PIN , Phone number and T mobile SIM card number
4) Your number will be ported to T mobile in less than 5 minutes. Your Tmobile Account number will be your phone number prefixed by 1 Ex: 1 214-xxx-xxxx and the pin number will be the one that you setup initially during the porting or activation process.Note that for each line in Tmobile prepaid, it will be a separate account number i.e. the phone number of each line prefixed by 1 for that line. Again PIN number would be what you have set during number porting/activation for each line.
5) Wait for about an hour and Chat with Sprint Customer care and verify if your account is cancelled. Someone mentioned you can also check the status on sprint byod page with IMEI number.
6) Now call back sprint telesales number and port your Tmobile number to Sprint with a different SSN ( a family members)
7) After about 45 mins or so with all credit check etc done, you are good to go for another one year.
Can the T-mobile Sim be reused, or do you need another T-mobile SIM to port another phone?

It's free so you can try it out. I started this plan in April and it has worked for me. Even went overseas for two months and the free data roaming was great. No issues. $48 for a whole year of service is an amazing deal.

Most times yes. You can check it here: https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/prep...own-device after plugging in your zip code.

BTW, you can also port in to the pay as you go plan through this site but it will cost you $3 plus taxes, however, you may find this more convenient than calling in.

They're becoming very aggressive with the device protection cash cow. They added it to both of my lines without consent. Luckily I checked my account online a few days later and cancelled it from there. Watch out!
