I have a project FI Moto X4 phone, a Virgin mobile Iphone 6 and Ultra mobile Moto G5 phone. For all the three when I enter the phone # and IMEI, it comes ineligible. Should I switch these phones to another carrier and then transfer. If so what do you reccomend and how long should I wait? Thanks!

first need to determine what the issue is..phone or phonenumber

i would first check eligibility with a friends number that is on V, ATT or TM...with each phone....start there..

from what i've read, since project fi uses the sprint network, you have to have fi tech support change your phone ownership from plbl to spcs.

"In Sprint's systems, a device has a "phone ownership" flag. If set to SPCS (Sprint PCS), it can usually activate with Sprint postpaid retail. If set to PLBL (private label), it can usually activate with any Sprint MVNO.
Any Sprint MVNO can normally switch a device from PLBL "back" to SPCS. Some do upon request, some seem to have no process for it. Sprint retail customer service usually has no clue how to do it. (They can, but it isn't something they normally are trained on or know to check for in my experience.)"...taken from reddit

I don't know the answer to your virgin mobile iphone 6 question. i'm sure others later can chime in.

Isn't ultra mobile a t-mobile mvno? if your MotoG5 is unlocked you should be able to use it with no problem.

Correct. Fi and Virgin are Sprint in one respect or two respects so that explains those two. Plus you will have to get Fi to flip the mvno flag after leaving as noted.

If the Moto G5 is on a Sprint related carrier you will also have to get it off also.

You do not need a VZW or AT&T account.

Just give them the GV port info. They are fine with GV too. A zillion people here use GV and TMO and others (other than Sprint MVNO's).

Anyway your GV number could has been front-ending a VZW number for all they know. You can tell them that if you want. There is no way they can tell that that is not the case (not that they care - they don't). You will have to tell them it is a GV number. She was not stating a requirement as to carrier, just assuming the most common case.
This is not working. They are requiring time to verify to get the port from Verizon. They're telling me that the numbers have to be released from Verizon before I can use them with this promotion. Any ideas??

What do you mean "time to verify to get the port from Verizon"?

Who is "they". Sprint? or someone else?

You just port the number in. If its with GV, just pay the $3 to unlock it ad give them the Google Voice port out credentials.

You do NOT release it or you would lose it.

If the port is already pending, check its status at
https://shop2.sprint.com/en/wlnp/check.shtml
Call: 866-437-1818

and only call that number, not TeleSales any more. They can revise it if need be.

If you are porting from GV, Verizon does not enter the picture.

Sprint just called me to activate the lines with the SIM cards that arrived today. They asked me for a Verizon account number and Verizon Pin. Sprint told me that it would take between 15 and 75 minutes to contact Verizon to release the lines from Verizon to Sprint for the promo. She said repeatedly that they must come from either Verizon or ATT. Any ideas?

Just call 866-782-8777 and you will get someone else who will do it.

That is the very first rep out of thousands of posts who has taken that position. The person is so woefully uninformed you do not want to deal with them any further and do not need to. They are also dangerous since they suggested releasing your number since that would cause it to be lost. It must be some new trainee.

Most likely you are entering the imei wrong or the phone number wrong.

Also do not activate online.

Get the sim which ends in 416Q locally (or $2.99 delivered from Twigby) and call 866-782-8777 to activate it. They can help you if any problem does arise.

It does not have to be checked.

I have two phones with this plan. I need to swap the phone number between these phones. Has anyone done this phone number swap online? Do I need to talk to someone at sprint to do this? If so, what is the phone number at sprint to do the phone numbers swap?
I saw a swap device option in my account, but not sure how to use it to swap the two phone numbers.

I have done it using tech support chat.

Just chat and request tech support to swap the two numbers.

You cannot do this particular swap on the DashBoard.
