This is why we keep repeating: READ THE WIKI.
I did follwed the wiki.i called the number and got account created. However my phone had an issue and during the process of activation , which they asked me to visit store, they messed.

However I have repeatedly asked and confirmed that I should be in BYOD plan.

They said they are going to fix it.

I did the $15 unlimited kickstart, from TMobile because they have an amazing Japan plan for $5 extra since I was going to Japan for a few weeks this summer. Cheaper than getting local SIM. It was crazy fast in Japan with Softbank, full bars 95% of the time even in bullet train, crazy fast. Now that vacation is over, I switched back to T-Mobile. It's you get what you paid for kinda thing, very slow data almost all the time and VoLTE is not available all the time even within Sprint users, at least in Boise/Meridian area. Here Verizon is the king but T-Mobile will do for me just fine coz of mostly the perks .... and oh their coverage Smilie

I agree it is not your fault. They were the ones that told you to go the store.

Agreeing that it is their fault for their lack of coordination (they never coordinate anything actually), just fyi, it is best to never let a store touch the plan. This always results in a paid plan stores have no access to the free plan.

You are being more generous than I would be if you are letting regular customer service take time to fix it while billing continues. I would not wait for more than 2 days before getting Account Services (which is a separate department from Customer Service) to refund the paid plan under the 14 day money back guarantee..

If you are not dealing with Account Services 1-888-211-4727, they can probably fix the whole thing for you on the spot.

Yeah exactly there is a place for both.

Sprint has far better roaming across the less populated parts of the USA than TMO too.

And those 2 and 3 hour hold times on TMO support that many here are encountering are not great.

I get better speeds by far here on Sprint than TMO.

So it just depends on many factors.

A number ported from any non-Sprint carrier is fine (both pre-paid and postpaid). Sprint is just currently targeting AT&T and Verizon customers.

A few questions:

Can you get around the hotspot restriction by using a 3rd party app?

Thanks!
Everyone with or without the recent Sprint hotspot restriction, READ these:

PdaNet+ does NOT require a rooted phone. It'll work on an unrooted or a rooted device.

IF you have a rooted phone you can use this, it's worth it but it costs a couple of $:

It does NOT work on unrooted phones.

As usual, ANY question one may have on this deal it has been answered in this thread. Just do a pointed and intelligent thread search, read and you'll find the answer pretty quickly.

I switched from Verizon by calling the number listed. It went smoothly. I'm in Glendale/Los Angeles California and the service is good so far. I have Google pixel 2.

We switched from T-Mobile (MetroPCS) and the first line about an hour including setting up the account and autopay. The other lines took slightly less than 45 minutes each from start to making a test phone call and text to ensure everything was working properly.

Yeah. We tested this on our son's phone for seven months before hopping on the next wave and then putting all of our phones on. Sprint wasn't that great in my area when I first tried it about seven years ago. Now, it works where we need it to and found (at least where we live) it's slightly better than T-Mobile. We're loving the savings.

Thank you.. I will call them today..if they cannot I will go through 14 day refund.

Spoke with account department, they said cannot apply promo as it's teleservice deal and forwarded call to teleservice..spoke with teleservice they say they cannot apply promo as it's activated in store. I am struck it seems.. please let me know what else can be done??
