runtohell121 - Did you get your phone activated eventually? I'm having the same "No Service" issue with my unlocked Verizon iPhone 7 Plus after hours of activation issue (since last day and a half). I have heard all sorts of things from the carrier not releasing the phone or my old number being a reserved phone (which is not true as google voice shows the number gone/ported out) to phone IMEID not compatible (which later they are saying it's just an error in the system and the phone is fine).

Any other suggestions or similar experiences from others?

Thanks!
Quick update - So got my phone working. A nice tech support person called me back. Turns out somehow my IMEID was flagged as ineligible/problem or something due to a system error (in spite of Sprint website saying that my phone was eligible before I bought the SIM). They had to escalate it to correct it, and now everything is okay.

By the way, anyone knows how to find and cancel the protection program coverage online? I know a rep forcibly added it during the process but I can't seem to see it in my account. I was wondering how to easily cancel it versus having to call again and get stuck in the endless do loop.

I need to use unlock service on eBay and it says that I need to make sure the iPhone does not have 'iCloud lock'. What does 'iCloud lock' mean and how can I make sure it does not have iCloud locks? Thank you.
You need to just turn off 'find my iphone' under iCloud settings on phone.
How did you verify sim locked?
Did you try Att unlock portal or was it not eligible to be unlocked by ATT.

Sure. Just click on change services and uncheck the TEP box. It may take an hour or two after activation before that option shows up in your online sprint account page.

In your online account, choose MANAGE DEVICES. Then go to CHANGE SERVICES on the device you're checking. Make sure TOTAL EQUIPMENT PROTECTION PLUS is unchecked or uncheck it and click CONTINUE. After maybe a few hours or a day, do online chat with customer service and have them verify that TEP has been removed or that it's not active on your line. Make sure to email yourself that verification chat should you need it later.

I have a Galaxy S8+ that I am currently using with T-Mobile. How can I find out if I can talk and surf at the same time?

There is some info saying that S8+ can do this, but it might be limited to some Sprint version of the phone? Will my S8+ be able to talk and surf?

Branded S8/8+ has full brand-switching. It sort-of literally becomes a Sprint S8+ when you insert a Sprint sim. So you will have every Sprint feature.

Calling Plus / LTE Calling Beta does support that feature.

However you only get best effort call priority until VoLTE is released in a month or two depending on where you live.

See https://s4gru.com/entry/432-sprin...september/

for a map as to where that will be available initially.

With full VoLTE at that point, LTE calls will have guaranteed priority. Until then it is beta and you can get dropouts in some circumstances.

If course if you can use Wifi Calling this is not a problem.

In other words, yes you can do it but it is not 100% yet. I have an S8+ and use it sometimes.

When looking at my account online with my home computer, the Services You Can Add section of my account shows Protection TEP as the first thing and then all of the services you just listed. I wouldn't know why you can't see it. If TEP is active on your account, it MAY be under the heading of Current Services which is just above Services You Can Add.

It's been a year since I started my plan, so I'm looking to cancel before my promo rate ends. Should I just call in and cancel with Sprint CS or should I port the number out to a free service (I don't care about keeping the number at all)? I recall that there was a way to port out to some service (T-Mobile prepaid?) where it would take your number, hut you never had to actually buy airtime/service (so basically a free port out for automatic cancellation). I think people did it for the Sprint Essential deal, but I can't remember exactly.

Yes. Porting out with a T-Mobile digital sim is covered in the wiki. If you do that and can find a friend or relative to open a new Sprint account for you, you can port right back in for another free year. However, if you just want to cancel and be done with it, call Sprint CS.

Still Cannot find TEP. This is what I have!

...
You can only add it in certain time periods, such as within 30 days of signing up (I think).
Probably it does not show if you are outside those times.

But to be extra sure, just do Billing Chat. They can tell you in 30 seconds if it is on and, if not, remove it instantly.

It is only Sales that pushes it. Billing is happy to take it off.

Cancelling via porting out takes effect immediately and preserves your number.

Cancelling via Account Services does not take effect immediately (it takes effect based on the billing cycle) and you lose your number permanently.

I assume you are aware that you can get another free year by porting out now and then later porting in again as a new customer? See the Wiki for details and the relevant time periods.

If the number is not important, my suggestion would be to port in a GV number instead if you want to setup a new acct and get the free plan for another year (of-course under a diff SSN). The cost, $3, is the same for either GV or T-Mobile porting. T-mobile port is not as trivial as it appears in the wiki. It's a nightmare to get to the Tmob rep and if u get a newbie or an ignorant one, you will waste your time and possibly SIM card. Just go with GV instead.
