To recap, I signed up for a free second year today. They were extremely busy and the call took over 50 minutes. Last year it took only 30-35. I used the same SIM card as last year and it may have upset the process. I had no calling or text capability until I did a service update through Sprint Chat. Now it works fine. However I'm only getting 2mbps lte in my bedroom, though I am in a big apt complex. This is with only two bars service. If I use 3g, only 1 mbps. Service is good through September 30th, according to the representative who spoke good English and was pleasant. I didn't argue about the included insurance, I'll cancel it later. That's about $15 per month. I used a different service address than my billing address and that was no problem, just an extra step that I would suggest following through on for those of whom which haven't had Sprint service. Of course, they told me mine would be excellent, but I've only got two bars and 2mbps. Poor building penetration is the Corps. biggest handicap I'd say. My suggestion would be not to port over your main phone line until you get a good taste of what it's gonna be like with a test line. Best of luck.
So you did second time of free year with same SSN? Does the 45 days pass from the first account cancellation? Thank you.

yea my grandaughter has an iphone X. btw, Sprint is working on rolling out the ability to talk and use data at the same time. It's called Calling Plus and it works on my $120 Moto Z2 Force after upgrading to Oreo.
ya, unless you're in wifi, it is called WiFi calling under the settings of the phone.
BTW, for others, why is it working in other carriers like AT&T and Verizon and can't be used in sprint. I don't think it is the issue with the device/manufacturer..!

I finally connected with the T-mobile rep. I gave them the SIM info and sprint acct info. Yet they want my personal info. What am I doing wrong?

Does any one know the exact process they follow?

you give them sim, they activate and give u the pin? Then they port the line from Sprint?

In my case, the moron asked for SIM, then sprint info and before doing anything...started my personal info for the acct....WTF...This is really getting on my nerves
I just did my second port from Tello to T-mobile using the same digital SIM as on Monday. I called first thing in the morning, and it said 21-33 minute wait, so I opted for the call back. Received a call in 20 minutes, said I did not have my phone yet, but wanted to activate my SIM and port my number. The only information she requested was first and last name plus birthday. Then, she asked me to set up the 6 digit PIN. She did ask if I had an activation code, and I told her no. The call lasted less than 12 minutes, and the number was ported about 10 minutes later.

The call to Sprint to add the line to the existing account was more of a pain because she was fixated on an address for the port, even though T-mobile did not have an address. It ended up taking twice as long as the call with the credit check and account set up, but I am finally active.

Hello everyone,

I am on Mint Mobile, love it mostly except I get the issue with calls going straight to voicemail. I did this deal and my phone number/IMEI were eligible. I had to call Sprint for the credit check part, but the lady was very nice and had it all done within 15 minutes, charged me $3 for the SIM (waived shipping) and confirmed it would be for the 1 year free. She said I would need to port in my number and activate it once I received it.

When she asked where I was coming from, I said T-mobile since Mint is a T-mobile MVNO. However, once I get my SIM and I need to port in my number, HOW DO I DO IT!? Do I say I am porting from T-Mobile but then give my Mint acct# and pin?? Or do I say Mint Mobile? Anyone who has ported from Mint have any tips on how you actually do it from Mint? I don't want them to say Mint is not eligible or they don't have it in their system to port it?

Please help if you've ported from Mint to Sprint for this offer and let me know how to do it! Thank you!

while they may ask, typically they will not care where it is coming from as long as the number is eligible

just make 110% sure u have correct info from mint, like account number, tele # (duh), port pin code

u should be fine

So I assume you called the dedicated number in the wiki to sign up. Did the rep give you an account number, pin and all that? I would just call the dedicated number again when you receive your sim and verify again that it's the free plan. They can set up the port.

I would rather pay my $50 per month for true unlimited lte than read all of this nonsense just to see if I qualify for some junk sprint service. Honestly id rather shoot myself then deal with all that. I love a great deal as much as anyone but wow.
yea it's really complex.

1. you have a cell phone line anywhere but Sprint.

2. you have a phone that can work on Sprint.

3. you call them up and either get it, or you don't.

Of course you'd only save $600 for a year.

Thank you for the response. Not sure why they are asking for DOB/Name. Most folks here reported no personal info was requested or shared. Did you share the same info on Monday? Thx
