other than Sprint in my experience.

It has taken me literally days to resolve port issues with TMO (spanning weekends) because their staff have no actual visibility of port status (other than "in progress" which means nothing) without calling other reps.
Yeah. That seems to be a pain-point with T-Mobile, but with patience and perseverance we can get the job done. Smilie That's what a lot of people complaining about this deal need.

Nothing like that matters. It does not matter what number or carrier you call from. It does not matter how recently that number was on Sprint as long as it is somewhere else when you port it in to Sprint now.

The phone can be anywhere. Nothing about where the phone IMEI or sim ICCID is, or was, matters.

The only thing that matters is the NUMBER. You must port in the number from a non-Sprint carrier. So you will have to first port her number to be elsewhere (could by VZW, numberbarn, TMO prepaid - see Wiki for details). Then call Sprint and give them port in credentials for the number, along with the IMEI and Sprint sim ICCID. You can use the sim you already have.

You can use your own SSN or hers as long as the SSN has not been the formal SSN of record of any Sprint account in the last 45 days. (Just because you or she used a phone on some other person's account is not a problem as long as your SSN was not the formal SSN of that account)
Quote from scarchelli :
correct. can i just remove her phone for a few hours then call sprint and tell them i want to join? or do i need to legit be on a different carrier account when i call?
Another thing to keep in mind when porting out of Sprint--if you port to a friends account---you will have to port out of that friends account which might make it a little more difficult. It can be done but your not the main account holder on that account so you would have to get permission from the main account holder. I would think the wiki would have an easier way of doing it.

Okay, dont call and give up ur ssn over the phone to these bastards. They are harvesting information. They disapproved my credit check citing I could have answered one of the questions they asked incorrectly. what a bs. I had my bro sign up and they denied on him too when we know we answered correctly and have good credit already. Learn from my mistakes. Thanks.

Sprint CS reps can only work with the info that is in front of them. If they say the info they see is incorrect, I highly doubt it is Sprint's fault. I believe there is a credit CS number (or at least some solution links) in the wiki. They can probably clear things up. Afters signing up so many people, I don't think they'd just want your SSN and then just reject you.

Ok that's easy to fix. I'm glad you asked.

Call Sprint Credit Department direct during business hours at this number (only): 800-639-6116 and a supervisor will approve a different set of identity verification questions, this time based directly off your credit report rather than off public domain records, which is where the initial set comes from and can indeed be hard to pass.

This has worked for many many people that I suggested it to. Try it and post back when it works.

How can I get a deal for second year with same social security number? How many days do I have to stay away? Has anyone attempted this?
