Just finished my year of free Sprint yesterday and immediately swapped to T-Mobile military plan. The service is below subpar if you travel. If you spend 90% of your time in the city or within range of the tower go for it. If you value your time and money leave Verizon and stay away from sprint. Checkout T-Mo, MetroPCS, Cricket and others.

This is one of the most comprehensive wikis. Thanks to all who contributed. Take the time to read it all and it could save you hours if not days of frustration. My 1st year, I activated via online and paid $17 for 2 Sprint sims. I port out before one year expires. I then find to my surprise that this deal is still on-going. So port back in (different SSN), add some additional lines. From the wiki and various posts, know enough to go to a Corporate store and receive a free sim by being polite and knowing what to say. Swap devices (not "upgrade", not "new phone") via web activate or chat. Learned to take off the dreaded $13 TEP via sprint dashboard or chat.
For $17 per month (4 lines), this deal beats all other plans out there, even with Sprint's limitations.

Best thing to do(time permitting) is to go to a Sprint store near your home/ work. Ask people about coverage. People love to opine. Really.
If you don't get satisfactory coverage there is no reason to get on Sprint.
On the other hand, remember that your only real expense is a Sprint compatible phone. If you already have that ready to go, you literally have nothing to lose.
Give it a try. It's fun to save all that dough and you feel like a genius
remember don't speak to Sprint raps about any plan. They cannot do this for you and just creates confusion /resentment for in-store reps

I read the entire wiki, and blurbs in it, none has information comintel provided. I advise you to read it before patronizing others.

Hi, Is anyone getting error while activating "WiFi calling".

Am getting "Enablement error. We are unable to process your request at this time due to account level settings set by your account owner. Please contact your account owner/manager for assistance. - 1348"

I have iPhone 6 moved from att. Call/text/lte is working fine. I did called sprint and raised tech ticket. It's almost 4 days no response from sprint.

Sign into your account and add the free wifi calling feature and then try to activate it on the phone. That is how I was able to get it to work on my device.

Cricket bro. Check them out, they use Att towers. I've had them for 3 years and loved the service.

Thank you. I cannot see this feature in my account for this connection. But I can see it in my 1st connection. Error is in my second line. I contacted sprint again, they said wait for 1 more day.

For those coming back for 2nd year....

Happy to say the 45 day waiting period for a new ported number account on same SSN is flexible if you talk to a rep over the phone. He left and consulted supervisor then signed me up. I ported my real number away from Sprint 29 days ago and got a new phone after using Sprint "free" for 10 months (needed more reliable service while driving for work this time of year). MetroPCS crushes Sprint in my area, hopefully Sprint improves if they ever share Tmobile towers..

I paid for my Google Voice unlock today and took that number to Sprint with my 2nd currently tether/wifi only phone. Used my old #'s Sprint SIM card, just waiting now for the Google number to finish the port to Sprint. It's been about 2 hours now... The rep said they'd call back to walk me through something on the phone since the SIM card and this phone were used on my previous Sprint #....?

edit: rep called back, had me manually update device config and back in business on new #.
