Hey guys,

So I have a Moto G5S Plus. I checked the IMEI and am eligible. Saw in the Wiki that I can buy a Sprint SIM from non-Sprint sources for less (e.g., ebay and Amazon). I found on Ting's website that my device needs a SIM with Part SIMOLW416Q, SKU CZ4114LWQ. I looked for these on ebay and found a couple of people selling them. However, one of them stated, "NO UNLOCKED OR FLASHED DEVICES MUST BE *SPRINT." Is that true, and if so, why?

Thanks!
No that is nonsense. (More exactly they are trying to explain that the sim will not help if the phone is incompatible in the first place).
But you can get any Sprint sim from Twigby (an official Sprint source since they are a Sprint MVNO) for $2.99 delivered.

Yes you can at a cost - it is there in your DashBoard as a billable extra.
No Premium International Experience though (even though it is listed).
Thank you I will look into it.

I did on my sprint app and don't know where to look at.

I guess it is available on a regular computer browser.

Whats the relative advantages and disadvantages of this vs the $25 kick-start offer except the obvious that for the latter one has to pay $25/month ? Why would anyone go for kick-start ?
The free plan is available right now with savings until September 2019. The Kickstarter will guarantee savings until January 2020. With only four months difference in expiration dates, the free plan is the better deal. They are virtually the same plan.

Is the phone with Wi-Fi calling on the primary line of your account, by any chance?
No, its not the primary

Yes, i have tried everything but call anyone at Sprint. To be honest I would rather not rock the boat at this point but was curious as to why only 1 phone out of 5 shows wi fi calling when there all compatible

I believe the Kickstarter plan doesn't have expiration on savings. The January 2020 expiration is for unlimited basic plan savings. I don't have Kickstarter so can't confirm this though

Sprint has said it is intended to be a lifelong plan.

Quote :
The company also promises those who switch will be able to keep the cheaper $25 rate for as long as they have Sprint. Although Draper can't say what will happen if the T-Mobile merger goes through, he thinks the new company "would make the customer-friendly choice."

"The intent is that this is a lifelong plan, not a limited-time promotional plan," he says.

I have not seen your January 2020 date mentioned.

However I myself would not want a plan with no hotspot permanently.

No and that is the rationale for the difference in price: Ad saving plus Dealer Support and Commission Saving plus customer acquisition cost saving.

Kickstart now has dealer support and sales commissions so it went up $10 a month.

T Mobile does not have to honor sprint promotion after merge.

This is the only bummer of the deal.

Now, considering you can't purchase it, when you try to hotspot or tether, it just won't work? I kinda expected added charges.
