It was dropped by design when they revised their offer for new customers. They also dropped 1080p streaming from the new offer.

Those who signed up before the revised plan announcement still have it (me included).

I am not following your point.
My point, was that you said you wouldn't want such a plan permanently, which I agree with. It implied that maybe it was by design (conceivably to tempt a plan upgrade), but I was pointing out they HAD offered that initially, which possibly indicated that wasn't their thinking (at least initially).

Anyhow, I didn't sign up before the revised announcement, and it does feel a bit of a stranglehold, but not enough to go to Kickstart for hotspot alone. I would love to know if anyone has luck with a CSR adding that back - if that's even possible.

Yes you can at a cost - it is there in your DashBoard as a billable extra.
No Premium International Experience though (even though it is listed).
I Just added to my plan, change services, managed services and add Mexico Canada plus $5.00. Thank you .

I am going to be attempt getting the 2nd year of Sprint service free this next week. I have a question. How can I tell which social security number I used on my initial application one year ago? I cannot remember whether I used my wife's SS or mine. I had just retired and may have used hers since she had income.

Also, I want to purchase a used Iphone 7plus for my wife as an upgrade from her 6. Is it okay to purchase a Sprint locked phone? Will I be able to transfer it to T-Mobile and then back again to Sprint? I would hate to purchase the wrong phone.

Thanks, BLS

Submitted the credit check, then...

"We're sorry. We can't complete your order online, but give us a ring and we'll get you taken care of."

Odd because my credit is really good. Tried calling the # and the office is closed, so I guess I'll call tomorrow. Hopefully it won't effect my score because of the credit inquiry. Porting a Google Voice # btw.

Finally succeed. Took me forever to make my Essential Phone work on the sprint network. Almost drove me crazy. No problems with iphones, however. Transferred 2 lines to sprint from At&t.

That's true - they revised and rationalized their whole plan structure on July 13 across all plans. They cut back Hotspot and Video Streaming across all low end plans.

KickStart does not have hotspot .and never did. For a while this plan was better than kickstart. Now it is the same.

Nobody has had any luck adding hotspot. Of course everybody who signed up around the time of the announcement tried and begged to get it. Sprint did not give it to any of them (why would they?) UNLESS they could produce a screenshot showing it was being advertised at the time they signed up. We tried to help some people do so.

Realize Sprint did not take the hotspot away from anyone. The offer ends periodically and a new offer is made.with new terms and a new end of savings date. We call that extending the offer informally, but officially it is a brand new offer. Starting on July 13, the offer does not include the hotspot or high def streaming. This brought it back to be the same as Kickstand, which never had these from the beginning Everybody had wondered why this plan had better features than paid KickStart. So they fixed that by revising this plan by removing them from the new phase of this plan for new customers only..

Excellent!

I may add it on at times when I am calling Canada a lot. Otherwise I use another way to call.

I made sure I went to Sprint corporate stores (owned and run by the Sprint corporation) and not dealer stores (independently owned franchises). My experience was that I simply explained I wanted to take advantage of the free year and was directed by the website to go to a Sprint store to pick up the sims. I said "pick up" as opposed to "purchase" because I had been told some stores give them for free while others charge for them. At both corporate stores I went to, the reps knew exactly what I was talking about. They took me aside (I assume so that other customers could no longer hear me) and asked what phones I needed the sims for. I had to go to two stores because the first store was out of stock of one of the sims I needed. Both stores gave them to me for free. Easy-peasy for me, but according to this thread, there are stores that have no idea that this promotion has been going on for over a year now.
