Yeah I do not know what went on internally between the two companies.

Maybe Google and Sprint agreed to divide services and markets up between Fi and non-Fi use. Maybe Sprint wanted it that way or maybe it was Google that did.
I agree it is short-sighted, whoever is responsible.

Sprint is also phasing out Google Voice number integration, so something tells me all is not totally cool between the two companies, although it could just all be technical issues I guess.

Anyone had luck activating LG Volt 2 from Boost mobile for 1 year free promo?

I've DM'ed LiterallyUnlimited on reddit for the flag flip from PLBL to SPCS on my device. Will be eager to see the response.
He will not touch a Boost phone. You will not be able to get it on. The problem is not that flag anyway. - there are special Boost flags. Boost is not an MVNO.

I an fully aware that new unactivated Boost phones are being let on in many cases.

This has nothing to do with this person's post about a Volt 2 Boost phone previously active on Boost. These will be rejected (I have tried).

Maybe if TMobile and Sprint end up merging they might bring back wifi calling and visual voicemail for the pixel 2

So, I called the number provided last night after the credit check screen telling me "additional processing was needed. After a few prompts I was put on hold for 5 minutes while a 5 second advertisement for a Sprint Galaxy Note 9 repeated over and over.

Eventually an attendant picks up. After telling the person who picked up why I called, they informed me I was in the wrong department and transferred me to the "correct" department.

Another 5-minute hold while the ad plays over and over

2nd person picks up. Also tells me I'm also in the wrong department and gives me a different phone # to call: 800-777-4681. Doesn't offer to transfer me.

I call the number provided. 3rd person picks up and after I tell her what's going on I'm put back on hold. This time there are a pleasant variety of ads rotating. During this time the attendant picks up, asks a few questions, and puts me back on hold 3 times. The process has taken 30 minutes at this point.

Upon request I read her the IMEI from my device and she says "Ok, we need to send you out a SIM card. Yes, please. Another hold. Now takes all of my info down that I previously entered last night. Another hold while she "reaches out to her credit team". 45 minutes in.

10 minutes later I find out I need to go to a Sprint store and provide 2 kinds of ID for the credit check. The closest store is 25 miles away. Wish they just told me that online!

I'll update this with any new info!
It is not your fault for not reading our Wiki (probably you had not heard of it before), but you should not have called any of those numbers. They are for other plans etc.

That's why we tell people to start with calling 866-782-8777, not online.

Did you triple check that you are even signing up for the Free one year BYOD Plan?

You can probably still avoid going to the store by calling 866-782-8777 and if that fails there are other numbers that are appropriate, just on the issue of the identity check. This plan is exempt from having to go to a store in most cases if you speak to the right people.

FIRST thing to check is that you are even signing up for the right plan. It is quite possible that you are not. Better triple check that to avoid an even worse disaster. In general, other departments like the ones you called cannot sign up people for the Free plan and people end up on paid plans.

Hopefully that will be the case. TMO is very liberal in supporting every type of phone as much as possible.

For that phone,

https://support.apple.com/kb/sp706?locale=en_US

Note no band 41 on that model.

Actually that is the main model of that age or newer that gives problems over and over because it sort of half works. Newer iPhones either do not work at all on Sprint (AT&T and TMO models) or have all needed bands. (They split the models into two branches starting in later models). Others here can probably add more detail later.

Apple phones are still not going to perform nearly as well as say Samsung's on band 41 because they still do not have HPUE signal boost yet. Even the Boost Moto G6 play has that. Hopefully it will finally be in the new iPhone model announced on Sept. 14.

I called Sprint and managed to transfer my number from T-Mobile earlier today (2 hrs ago). Supposedly, the port over was successful and my account was approved/activated (received emails).
To confirm, I tried calling from the phone, but I get a message stating that the account needs to be activated. I have recycled the phone couple of times, but the issue has not been resolved. Would I need to perform a factory reset? Any thoughts/guidance is appreciated.

Phone model would be huge help. Since it was previously on Sprint carrier settings probably need reset and refreshed.

I assume G5 plus(G5 not sold in US). You can try Dial *#*#72786#*#* to reset network settings, then I always update prl and profile. Hopefully this will help otherwise possible port completing or sprint backend.

I enabled in iPhone settings today to check it out(never used WiFi calling on sprint)and works but when I tried enabling on another line in account thru iPhone settings I got error. Almost like somehow being limited to 1 line per account. I did turn off WiFi calling but didn't deactivate on first device. Don't want to mess with free plan for option we don't use.
Ok, after testing today, here is the scoop on wi fi calling. Its all done through the settings on your phone and when finished it shows up in your Sprint account as wifi calling 0.00. Did the iPhone X, iPhone se, and the moto g6 play.
