You're right. I'm currently on Project Fi. Not sure whether this service, despite being free, is worth the hassle. I was a Sprint customer for years and dread the idea of interacting with their customer service. Thank you though!
Well since it is on project Fi it is ineligible just for that reason because Project Fi is considered a Sprint MVNO.

All you have to do is (1) get it off Project Fi and (2) ask Project Fi to release it from Sprint MVNO status for use on Sprint Postpaid. Project Fi can do that all on their own. It should not require any interaction with Sprint. Then it should show as eligible on Sprint checkers.

random data point regarding hotspot:
tl;dr: a online chat rep told me 10 gb free hotspot is still included. ymmv

REP : It would be my pleasure to help you with the details on hotspot.
REP : Yes, you get 10 Gb free hotspot with this plan.
You : Are you sure?
You : Is there any wording about that on the website?
REP : Yes, I am sure. You can have the copy of this chat.

No one has mentioned, lately, using ATT Prepaid to do the roundtrip port out of Sprint, to ATT Prepaid, and then back to Sprint. So let me remind ya'll.

ATT Prepaid SIM is $0.99 direct from ATT with free overnight or next day shipping. Costs $1 to activate the ATT SIM, get your ATT port out information from the ATT Port department during that port from Sprint process (not from the ATT Activation people, they will charge you $10), and then port back into Sprint. $2 total for the round trip.

I ported all 5 of my lines out of my old Sprint BYOD using this method, and back into my wife's new Sprint BYOD account.

A bit cheaper than the T-Mobile method if you have the time to wait for the ATT Prepaid SIM.
You did not need to fund your att prepaid account? How soon were you able to port out of att? How did you get your ATT port out info again?

Yes YMMV as to what some ill-informed rep may say (chat reps have little involvement with this free plan) but what they say does not alter the fact that it is not included for new signups. It was dropped from the web site, dropped from the plan descriptions you will get in your dashboard, and we have probably over 100 people who have verified that it is not included on plans issued after July 13.

Of course, it will be absolutely great if you can use the rep's error to get it added when you sign up and find out it is not actually included. By all means give it a try and let us know! It will be a real coup for you if you can pull that off! They should be liable for errors by their reps, although they may claim that they are not.

Hopefully there is something in the transcript that indicates you intended to ask about the one-year free BYOD plan.

Am I allowed to cancel the service, if the coverage is poor in my home? Currently I get very poor coverage by TMobile in my community. Within home, they make use of my WIFI. I also get frequent power cuts and I am totally out of contact during those power cuts as there is no cell reception, WiFi. But I would like to take advantage. When they say free, they generate the bill and issue credits correct? If there any contract ? Thanks.

No contract. Cancel anytime you want. You can roam on Verizon. If Verizon is also bad for you then Your only choice is at&t.

Thankfully I never had to interact with Sprint CS when I signed up for the free year promo. I just did everything online through the link then activated my sim card and phone via their online activation site. Once I hit mid July next year I'm porting out to close my account. For $3.66 the service is worth every penny. My speed in a full lte coverage area is only 12 mb down 9 up, but I also am using a iPhone se which is missing band 31 so that may be the reason. I get much better service on Cricket and MetroPCS. If I did a lot of business and work on my phone I don't think I could keep Sprint.

For those who have been doing this for a year, what are the monthly taxes/fees associated with this deal? I know it depends based on location, just trying to get a rough idea. Thanks.

Why not just read page 1 instead writing this and wait for answer?

if my account was established before hot spot is removed, will I have hot spot in my plan if I add a new line?
