Sorry for my ignorance but his phone is a tribute 5 so it says on the site it is not elegible. Are you saying that the rep can make that phone elegible?

If I buy a phone it would be a brand new one which hast been on Sprint.
Yes the rep can.

They are more willing if you have several phones (which you do).

Were you a Sprint customer recently (within 45 days)?

Is there a chance it is still listed as active on Sprint or a Sprint mvno?

What does this checker say? (It is a different one that omits the phone number check).

Yes you will have all Sprint features because any US branded S8 brand switches completely to any other branded S8 now.

You will even have VoLTE later this year.
So my unlocked t-mobile s8 plus (it is fully paid off and confirmed unlocked from Tmobile) will now work on sprint? I thought that only worked for the special s8 purchased directly from Samsung.

Nvm, I just reread the wiki! Thank you so much!! You just made my day

No one has mentioned, lately, using ATT Prepaid to do the roundtrip port out of Sprint, to ATT Prepaid, and then back to Sprint. So let me remind ya'll.

ATT Prepaid SIM is $0.99 direct from ATT with free overnight or next day shipping. Costs $1 to activate the ATT SIM, get your ATT port out information from the ATT Port department during that port from Sprint process (not from the ATT Activation people, they will charge you $10), and then port back into Sprint. $2 total for the round trip.

I ported all 5 of my lines out of my old Sprint BYOD using this method, and back into my wife's new Sprint BYOD account.

A bit cheaper than the T-Mobile method if you have the time to wait for the ATT Prepaid SIM.
ATT sims are no longer shipped overnight unless you pay extra. It's 3-5 days. I ordered one last night and expected delivery is showing Wednesday. Anyone needing one quickly will have to try getting one from a store.

For those who have been doing this for a year, what are the monthly taxes/fees associated with this deal? I know it depends based on location, just trying to get a rough idea. Thanks.

If i have phone ONE not compatible ( wanna transfer this #); phone TWO is compatible ( wanna keep this # and this phone with currently carrier Verizon). Can I use phone ONE # and phone TWO IMEI info to get the sim card and activate this offer? then use this sim card with another compatible phone (will buy a cheap one later)?
Does this process affect phone TWO's service with Verizon? a little bit confused, saw someone said sprint might lock the phone or bundle phone's imei with sim card iccid info etc, not quite sure it's true or not., thanks

I signed up for the 1 year BYOD back in January. I have few complaints, really. Reception in my house isn't as good as T-Mobile's was, but I have fiber service at home anyway. It's rarely been an issue. Mostly, reception is pretty good when out and about.

My biggest problem has been my phone's hotspot. I've been using hotspot for years, and this is the first time that my laptop, when connected will...freeze up sometimes. I've ruled out the phone itself because when I've used other SIMs in the phone, I don't have this problem at all. With Sprint, it's like if the phone itself stops connecting (like nothing is actively downloading on the phone), then the hotspot stops. When my laptop connection freezes while connected, the remedy is easy: open up the phone and refresh any page on the phone...and suddenly the laptop connects again! Annoying but I've believe it or not, I've gotten used to it. For $3.71/month, I can live with it.

But now that I understand that hotspot isn't part of the deal anymore, I won't try to renew this (with the possible tricks) after my deal ends in January.

Tried that, it didn't work for me.

Chained a few good deals for this. I have two lines on cricket, one of which was on a moto x pure phone where the battery was totally worn out. I wanted to upgrade that phone with the cricket deal on the Samsung S9 but needed a port-in number for that. I could use a third line for one of my kids that is just about old enough for a phone. I bought a t-mobile number for porting off ebay for just over $4. I ported that number to cricket and got the deal on the S9. I switched my sim into that phone and put the new sim (former t mobile number) into the old moto phone. I let it sit a few days to make sure everything was good and then ported that new number and the moto x pure to Sprint with this deal.

I tried to do the whole Sprint deal online, but I had to call for the credit check. This took quite a while but in the end I was approved for quite a few lines and they sent me the Sprint sim and waived shipping, so paid just over $3. Got it the next day and got it activated with no problem. I told them it was porting from ATT since they own Cricket. The port was quite quick. The moto x pure was perfect for this since it is unlocked for all four major carriers. They never asked me for the phone insurance. I checked my account online and I'm not being charged for it, so I think I'm ok there. I'm in a suburb of a major city and get pretty good speeds here. The taxes and fees are just under $5 per month.

Last time there was an ebay coupon I used it to buy a replacement battery for the moto x pure. I replaced the battery myself since I now have a new phone and this is just the phone for the extra line. I figured it would be a good one to experiment on replacing batteries that you aren't supposed to replace. That went well and so I have a decent phone on the Sprint line for a kid and two lines still on cricket, one with a new phone. Pretty happy combining the deals.

Quick question:
I already have byod free for my phone with sprint, and am trying to port wife's number out of sprint to T Mobile, then add the number back to my account with sprint.
When porting my wife's number into T Mobile, should the T Mobile account be under her name / birthday or mine?
Thank you!

Agree...and they have my thanks. Like you. You told me it was in the wiki and approximately where, and sort of answered me. The "IT'S IN THE WIKI, IDIOT!" posts are not helpful and only add, unfortunately, to the extreme length of this deal post. Whatever.

But truly, thanks to all the wiki contributors and the posting of this deal. It's saving a lot of people a lot of money. Reps given to you.
