To get a new plan, do I have to have a working phone? The IMEI/SIM all eligible. I just can not power on the phone Frown
a working phone is ideal

What are the exact settings to use with PdaNet+, though? Over been searching for hours and can't find anything. I have an unrooted LG V20, if that matters. About to be stuck without any internet other than through the phone for at least 2 weeks, so it's pretty critical I get this working successfully.
I will give you my own approach, which is to purchase the program. It is only $7.95 and that covers all your Android phones. I have it on maybe 6 phones. I have used it for years and have no problems at all. See http://junefabrics.com/ Try to purchase it through PlayStore. If it does not show, try purchasing using your play store account first on a PC rather than directly on your phone. Then it will show on your PC as well after you purchase it on your account.. All the instructions are at http://junefabrics.com/

About six months, as per the wiki, unless you can get someone else to open a second account under their SSN to share with you.

Thanks.. I am still reading and trying to understand all this. So in that case, i will use my spouse's SSN to open another account. I hope same address should not cause a problem.

Trying to help a friend get this deal. Currently they have 3 lines on a paid flex lease. Lease ends in 2 months. Can Sprint open an account for them without transferring any numbers yet. Because first we have to make sure that the significant other or maybe their son qualifies before we go all over this hoop. So can they initially establish a free 12 months free unlimited talk text and without porting a number?

Second question is..... Can their unpaid leased phone be used on another account? Once they close their lease account they will be sent a bill for their 2 more payments for their phones. But while the bill is in process, can they use those phones on their new free byod account and pay it once they get the final bill?

We successfully ported and activated 4 lines yesterday. It was a fairly simple procedure, but we were legitimately coming from Verizon and didn't have any hoops to jump through like a lot of SDers here trying to get an extra year on this deal Stick Out Tongue Phone call took about an hour to get everything setup and porting was relatively quick. Phone was working pretty well for the most part, except for voicemail last night. Now it seems like voicemail works fine.

Unfortunately, they didn't include the 10GB hotspot for us, and they tried like HELL to get the $13 extra coverage applied. I literally said "no" 15 times, and they still snuck it on at the end and I only caught it when she was reading the terms to me over the phone. Then she couldn't get "rid of it" on the system, but I was able to take it off from my online account fairly easily. We'll see what the taxes and fees come out to in our first bill. Coverage and speed is pretty solid here thus far. Only problems that I've had vs Verizon's service was when I was inside a gigantic school building and in an underground parking lot.

I am already on Free plan ending soon with 4 lines. I was able to port out first two lines one after another. Two of them moved to new free account fine. When I did the porting request for 3rd line which I believe is primary phone number and request was rejected. Later I requested 4th line to be ported out of S. It ported fine.

Is there an issue if we try to port primary number when other lines are still connected or S is trying to block my port for some other reason.

Experts,

In the same boat as many others here where my year of free service has ended. I'm trying to figure out where to port my five lines to and came across this (e#b#a#y product ID 1482341313) for $21.75:

Preloaded T-Mobile SIM Card With Prepaid Plan 10gb 4g First Month

https://www.ebay.com/p/Preloaded-...3662609272

On the surface seems like a great deal as after 45 days I'll port it back to Sprint.

What am I missing here? What should I be concerned with?

Thanks.

1. this should be possible. to open an account w/o actually porting a number. not sure just how long the account will be open though w/o a number to it

2. this is tricky. and one main reason i rarely do lease v installment billing. u know is i am sure. but w IB u can pay off immediately and phone is yours to do what u want. w lease i am not sure u can pay off early and pay off the payment amount early. i think u need to complete the entire 18 months before u can actually pay off

i could be wrong, but this is how i understand it.

incidentally, i have lease that will be complete 18 months in 1-3 days.
is a iphone 7 lease that was 50% off.
we will payoff the phone and keep it as our own.
i will see how all this works and report back findings

the rules require port in from non sprint carrier
not sure why coming from V is any better (legitimate) than from S via something else

as indicated in wiki, there is no 10 gb hotspot as of ~7/10/18

in any event, welcome aboard, enjoy the free service,

there should no issue in porting any line ever..

my guess is there is a typo somewhere along the process
(wrong number or numbers switched)

i would try again..
