Yeah, I wouldn't take anything posted on YouTube as the final word. That's what Instagram is for. Still... out of an abundance of caution... one should conduct themselves as if it the world really were ending tomorrow. Whee

If you have another phone already active (or can get one on), you can try IMEI swapping this phone on in its place via tech support. Then later add the original phone separately as a new line.

Then swap numbers later on if you need that.

This tends to work but they could eventually crack down on that also.

Keep in mind the return period of whoever you bought it from. Boost's is quite short.
Hmmm.. any idea on what the worst thing that could happen if they really crackdown and catch it? Would they disconnect service and will i lose number? Just trying to weigh in the pros and cons. Thank you as always!

Trying to help a friend get this deal. Currently they have 3 lines on a paid flex lease. Lease ends in 2 months. Can Sprint open an account for them without transferring any numbers yet. Because first we have to make sure that the significant other or maybe their son qualifies before we go all over this hoop. So can they initially establish a free 12 months free unlimited talk text and without porting a number?

Second question is..... Can their unpaid leased phone be used on another account? Once they close their lease account they will be sent a bill for their 2 more payments for their phones. But while the bill is in process, can they use those phones on their new free byod account and pay it once they get the final bill?
Not sure about the first question.
Past lease deals I did paid off by dialing * 2 or * 3 then confirmed on chat that i owned the phone outright.
Edit
I misremembered. Had to pay final amount in chat then confirmed I owned it outright

No they have not cut off people in the past in similar cases.

Once you are on, you stay on.

Have you kept on trying? You should. I hope you did not stop at just one try. Very often some reps are more flexible. Some people here have talked a rep into it despite initial rejection.

Just activating an ineligible prepaid phone does not look very attractive to the rep. It may go better paired with a late model iPhone or Samsung - real or imaginary. There are ways (I am not going to go into them). I notice many people who succeeded had a bunch of phones.

I just chatted with a live agent. I inquired about the 15gb lte mobile Hotspot. The live agent looked into it and said it is free and it is a perk for being on the bring your own phone Deal. I just signed up 2 days ago with sprint for this deal. I have read some posts that Sprint got rid of the Mobile Hotspot this year. Can anyone confirm if we still have the 15 15gb lte mobile Hotspot or if sprint did away with it? Thank you!

I think worst case? Is they send u a letter informing you of their intent to cancel your account for gross violations. They will give u 30 days to port out. If yoi don't in that time? Then you Will loose number

I've been on hold with Tmo for half an hour....just to try to add a line to my existing BYOD account. Guys, what's the chance that this is actually ending tomorrow and that they won't add a line to an existing account after the deadline? I think I'm going to wait for the hysteria to calm down

Plan is $5/mo and you get $5 discount for having both eBill (paperless bill) & auto pay making it free

You still have to pay taxes/fees -- its in the terms on the website:
"Mo. charges excl. taxes & Sprint Surcharges [incl. USF charge of up to 18.4% (varies quarterly), up to $2.50 Admin. & 40¢ Reg. /line/mo.) & fees by area (approx. 5–20%)]. Surcharges are not taxes. See sprint.com/taxesandfees"

Activate eBill + auto pay and you'll be paying ~$10/mo for the 2 lines
Oops - missed the "per line" part of that. thanks!

A lease can be paid off at anytime. To keep phone also need to pay ppo(purchase price option). If bill credits you forfeit remaining months bill credits. If had instant savings no penalty for paying early.
