I had a family member signed up on 6/22. I checked back a few days before the previous 6/30 expiration to sign someone else up... and they'd already changed it to 9/30.
What did happen on July 13 at the very least was they dropped the hotspot and cut back the video streaming.

I had the same issue. When you go into the device unlock app does it say that your device is permanently unlocked? Are you on the latest update for the s8? For me, the issue was that after I installed the latest update I had to factory reset my s8+, put the tmobile sim back in and redo complete the unlocking process. After it unlocked again and said that the device was permanently unlocked, I was able to remove my tmobile sim and insert my sprint sim. All the sprint features fully worked after I completed the above steps.
Thanks for the advice! I went through a series of software updates and now my phone is good to go!

I assume you read the last few posts?
Does it start up with the yellow Sprint logo?
Thanks for the heads up! Just read the previous comments and was able to update my phone to a point where all Sprint features are enabled.

Very good - I stand corrected then... I will amend my post...thanks.
Actually they would have had to extend it by end of June if June 30 was a previous expiration.

Just like now they have to extend it by 9/30.
Terms were changed Friday July 13 2018. Plan changed to SD stream and no hot spot and expiration was changed from 7/31/19 to 9/30/19. This was same date new Sprint plus and basic were released. Ultra hasn't been seen since.
The few days following the 13th Sprint made changes to website because some portions still listed 1080p and 10GB.

Just to make sure you are aware, other carrier S9/S9+ cannot be activated on Sprint (only the unbranded or Sprint-branded versions) because Samsung has not released brand switching still for S9.
Is this still correct?
I have an S9+ whose IMEI says it is good on Sprint, so I ordered a SIM. Sounds like I could be out of luck?

More likely they have just added brand switching to S9/S9+.

A lot of people were waiting for the day!

It should be fine.

Just to be sure, you are saying it is a carrier-branded S9+, right? (Not an unbranded model which was always eligible)

Yes but the immediate poster is saying he has proof that date was already changed to 9/30/2019 by June 22.

Assuming that is true, I suspect it may have been changed in mid June but not yet published.

Correct. Which is why I was surprised that the IMEI was listed as eligible to use on Sprint.

That's great news!

They only add the branded IMEI's after Samsung has released brand switching, which must have just happened.

Brand switching is usually added well after initial availability, after the ROM's can be converged.

You *may* be able to test it by putting in a Sprint sim but I am not 100% sure whether it might not also require activation to work completely. But it would at least give you a good clue.

Sprint sim for S9/S9+ is SIMOLW406TQ

OK it was changed by 7/11 because there is a post on that date by someone who noticed it.

Looks like it was being changed on sprint site 7/11 but not in effect until 7/13. Which makes sense since that is when new sprint paid plans went into effect. I just remember it from being an unlucky(Gimped plan) Friday the 13th.

Will another mid-month event happen in the next few days? I do not know but I think some (paid) plan features at least are changing. The insurance plan is improving.
