Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Regarding the below, I have 5 lines of service with Sprint. If I port over one line at a time to TMobile and back to Sprint with a new SSN, will Sprint close my account after the first line is ported? Obviously, I don't want to lose my telephone numbers. Also, with this process, can I continue to add lines back to Sprint one at a time in the same account or will they create a separate account for each of the 5 lines?
Quote :
For A) existing customers whose 1 year BYOD plan is expiring and want to renew another year of free BYOD OR B) customers on Sprint MVNO's i.e. Tello/Ting/Virgin/Boost, the fastest easiest is to port out to T-mobile using $5 digital T-Mobile SIM card from eBay and port back in to Sprint for another year of free 1YR BYOD.

If you are existing Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days, you will need a new SSN (friend/ family). If you are porting from a Sprint MVNO you don't need a new SSN as long as you weren't a Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days.

1) First, have your Sprint/ Sprint MVNO account number and PIN ready. Ensure that you have a Sprint eligible phone and compatible Sprint SIM card (Sprint SIM can be reused)

2) Order the $5 digital T-Mobile SIM Card from eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/232903327738. You will purchase 1 unique digital T-mobile SIM for each line you want to port as each digital SIM can be used only/ consumed only once.

3) You don't have to topup/ reload the Tmobile digital SIM. Once receive the digital SIM card number, call Tmobile customer care 1-877-778-2107 to port your sprint number to Tmobile. Just give them your Sprint/ Sprint MVNO acct number, PIN , phone number and T mobile SIM card number. If rep asks for an activation code tell them it is not necessary- only the SIM card number is needed.

4) Your number will be ported to T mobile in less than 5 minutes. Your Tmobile Account number will be your phone number prefixed by 1 Ex: 1 214-xxx-xxxx and the pin number will be the one that you setup initially during the porting or activation process. Note that for each line in Tmobile prepaid, it will be a separate account number i.e. the phone number of each line prefixed by 1 for that line. Again PIN number would be what you have set during number porting/activation for each line.

5) Wait for ~ 20 minutes to verify the completion of the T-mobile port and the cancellation of your Sprint account. Port is complete when your existing Sprint/ Sprint MVNO phone stops working (no calls/ no text/ no internet)

6) Now call back sprint telesales number 1866-782-8777 to sign up for the 1 year BYOD free plan and port back your number from Tmobile with a new SSN if you were an existing Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days.

7) After about 45 mins on the phone call, you are good to go for another one year. Verbally confirm that the representative waives the $30 activation fee per line as part of the promotion. In addition, ensure the rep DOES NOT add insurance on your phones to the billing- Sprint reps have been known to be unscrupulous and add insurance without your knowledge. Ask the rep to notate your account that you signed up for the BYOD 1 year $0 promotion for both lines in case the rep misapplied the promotion. In addition, ask the rep for your new Sprint account number and notate this down for future reference.

You need account and pin number. If you don't have a pin number listed, you can message FP but it usually takes them a few days to respond to your request. If you have all that you should be good. It's hit or miss with the speed of port. If more than a day try number in wiki for Sprint porting Dept to try and accelerate the port.

Thanks! I have accoutn and pin numbers already as I've been with FP for over a year. Will give it a go today during lunch.

Lines are independent of each other.

Porting 1 line (any line) will never affect the others.

My daughters phone was with Ting and I wanted to take advantage of this deal for her. I ported out to T-Mobile using the $5 ebay digital sim. Then signed her back up using my wifes name since I already have an account with Sprint under their advantage club plan. This was honestly a huge pain in the ass and wasted my entire sunday evening, but I would say definitly worth it since we get decent sprint coverage around here. They pushed the protection plan I just let them sign me up, I chatted with someone after and had them remove it.

Voice and data working great. No issues

Account will only close after last line is ported out -- you can add lines to existing free account by calling promo dept @ 866-782-8777

It'll probably be faster and less hassle if you do 2-3 lines at a time

I had this issue with nexus 6p. Sprint tech support denied to add the phone. Back to eBay it went.
Did tech support give a reason ? Like "whoever used this phone before owes Sprint money", "this was reported lost/stolen", etc

That is probably a failure because it should say compatible with both Ting GSM and Ting CDMA.

Try the Tello checker which is not so ambiguous.
I didn't copy and paste the entire thing. After entering my IMEI into Ting BYOD, I got this response:

Great news!
Your phone is compatible with Ting!

What's more, you can take your pick of the CDMA or the GSM network!
GSM

Your phone will support the following services on our GSM network.

2G 3G 4G LTE

If your phone is unlocked, you only need a Ting GSM SIM card to get started. If you already have an unused Ting GSM SIM card, please proceed to activation. Otherwise...
Get a SIM card
CDMA

Your phone will support the following services on our CDMA network.

2G 3G 4G LTE

If you already have a SIM card (there may be one already inserted in the phone) you can proceed to activation. Otherwise, you'll need to get the appropriate SIM card for your phone.
Activate now

When entering my IMEI in Tello, I get this:

Awesome!
Your phone wants to join Tello!

You can proceed and enroll your phone with Tello

Do you have a CDMA SIM from Sprint?

Ting can use 2 networks. It's been a while since I used checker but was the phone eligible for both networks(it should be). If just eligible GSM(they use tmo) and not CDMA(sprint), then is something other than PLBL.
Also tello checker should pass.
PLBL flag gets set if phone was on a sprint mvno, so the prior owner may have used it with sprint mvno.
Phone passed both Tello and Ting.

Tello:

Awesome!
Your phone wants to join Tello!

TING showed eligible for CDMA and GSM.

Any idea why on sprint I get that I need to take the phone to Sprint store?

Thanks.

I called 866-782-8777 last week. They did my credit check and told me that I have to wait 60 days on my current phone provider first or write a letter why i want to switch. And I'll receive something in the mail in the
My main reasons for wanting to switch are the free year promotion and that there are various places i often go where my signal cuts out. Will I be okay with just that or should I provide more.

There's some other reasons my provider left a bad taste in my mouth too, like I got extra charges and was put on some plan with extra charges without being asked, I wasn't given a receipt when I initially went to the store and paid, etc.

Anyone have activation issues? I've spent a few hours on the phone with Sprint (do NOT call the sales number... the people in the Philippines call center try to sell you the Sprint Complete package), but after a few tries of each (reboot, reset network settings, resetting subscriber settings) nothing seems to allow my iphone 8 to connect with Sprint towers. I bought the sim card because I had none that were compatible with iphone 8. The phone worked beautifully with rsim12 on T-mobile.... it is a Sprint-locked phone.

They're sending me a new sim card, but anyone experience similar issues?

Oh well then that actually is all consistent. If the mvno flag is set, it will activate only on mvno's until it is flipped. You can ask see if Sprint sales will do it or contact LiterallyUnlimited.

First call the Credit Department directly at 800-639-6116 as that often gives a better answer. Even usually.

Because that's what the mvno flag means - allow activation only on an mvno.
Probably you just need that flipped as we already said.

Thank you. Can you explain what that means. Why would I only be able to use a unlocked phone on mvnos and not Sprint itself?

What caused that on the unlocked phone?

Thanks.
