Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I had issues trying to activate over the phone with a rep in the philippines. Is there a way to active it online? I'm porting 3 lines from Google voice. She tried to sell Sprint total protection at $.50 device per day or $1.50 per day per day and mentioned that it would expedite the process in 5 minutes to activate it over 24-48 hours. She said it could be cancelled any time. Anyone take up this offer? Unfortunately, got disconnected and need to redo the whole activation over the phone (1 hour spent). Why does it take so long for them to activate? How long should it really take? Of course, I had to call late night so maybe this could have affected the activation?

He is correct. I had a iPhone 7 unlocked from AT&T and it was not compatible on CDMA networks. The reason for this is because I had a model with the intel modem, model A1778.
What is correct ?
Set your to mobile network option to "GSM only" to see if you can get any signal on att SIM/att network, no GSM tower for att...
No such thing "GSM only modem" existing in iPhone 7... all iPhones (since iPhone 3) are compatible with GSM/WCDMA/LTE

Yeah, I didn't take the offer because I said I can wait 24-48 hours. But I'm wondering if anyone else was offered or took it and did it help?

. Agree, I need to call again. Were you able to activate it over the phone and how long did that take?

Just let them add the insurance to get past the issue.

After you hang up remove it on your DashBoard or via chat (which goes to a different department which could not care less whether you have it or not and is happy to remove it).

Yeah, I dont have a problem about letting them add Sprint Complete/whatever. But is there any evidence that it actually expedites ports to take just "5 minutes" ? just curious

I agree with you that is a complete fabrication! I should have worded it as "to get past the argument about Sprint Complete.". I will revise.

These sales reps get very creative! The other day one was offering to eliminate the activation charge (which is already waived).

Only if you order online and that has its own problems which can be even worse.

Letting them add insurance may not expedite actual porting but it does expedite phone call. One time I was hung up on after insisting no insurance(even said I use squaretrade). Also when trying to decline insurance they jump into the cheap tablet to prolong call. The sprint complete protection was just launched so that term will used more often now.

Indeed, I just got this message trying to do it online (which makes no sense since another screen says I'm eligible and I never had sprint service):

Not eligible for this promotion
The 1 Year Free Unlimited promotion is only available to new customers bringing their own compatible phone and current phone number to Sprint. Call 1-866-782-8777 for details on eligibility.

This is crazy, I think they want you to call their sales line and upsell you.

I dont think it is necessarily by design.

Sprint itself is a bit dysfunctional. But service can be fast/good-enough for many, and it definitely can be quite inexpensive. Just stay out of the stores .......

It may already be in progress or some such. I think you will just have to call back and see how far along it is and what remains to be done if anything.
