Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Sorry to ask in this thread but I'm having trouble finding a post that succinctly summed up the steps to get a phone unlocked on Sprint. I've had a Boost G6 Play on this plan for more than 50 days and I'd like to get it unlocked. Any help would be appreciated.

Weak. My brand new unlocked iPhone Xs Max is ineligible!
Quote from RJ5929 :
I am curious to know why it is ineligible?

I ordered my XS max which will be delivered over the weekend and was planning to use it with a 4 in 1 SIM bought from sprint store and then do the porting from T-mobile.
Quote from MeatCatalog :
Ineligible, this phone does not qualify for this offer. iPhone Xs Max, bought unlocked from apple.com, delivered on launch day.
A few things to note:

1. A phone that is eligible to be used as a porting phone is required. The list in wiki is outdated, incomplete and may not include the latest model. Still it looks like the xs line is not eligible

2. because a phone is not eligible to be used as a porting device does not mean it cannot work on sprint (i do not know details of xs line like bands ect...so will leave to experts here to comment on weather or not a unlocked xs phone can be used on S)

one strategy is , get a phone that is eligible (ebay, CL etc)
port in to offer.
then swap to a phone that may not be eligible , but can be used on S (xs line for example)
sell the initial phone back on ebay, CL etc

more work, i get it, but simply presenting options one really wants a 1 Y F plan with a specific phone that is compatible with S carrier, but not listed as a porting eligible phone

I got my Boost Mobile Moto G6 Play unlocked.

I have used the Moto G6 Play on Sprint for 50 days and requested an unlock from Sprint. I ran the UICC unlock, and voila, it worked.

I placed my T-mobile SIM card in and it seems to have full working LTE data. Pretty nice.

This shows it has all the T-mobile LTE bands as well as AT&T. I don't have an AT&T SIM to test band compatibility for AT&T.

Good to know. Please give us some details on how you did it. Many G6 play users here.

I just signed up for the 1-year free Sprint plan (switching from MetroPCS) after activating my e-bates toolbar, and instantly received a $100 cash back from e-bates! This is the most rebate I've ever received from them. Will be looking forward to my next big fat check.

EDIT: Why is Slickdeals censoring the word e b a t e s?
You are suppose to enroll by calling them according to the wiki. Did you signed up and transferred your number online?

I know what you are saying. My question was are you trying to port in or currently on sprint. If you are on sprint, then ignore ineligible statement. I'm using xS Max on sprint but having a little trouble with data.

So, in short, once you have an activated sprint SIM on this free plan, you can swap the sim to another SPRINT network device and it works? Sprint doesn't lock the service to the phone IMEI or anything?

mostly correct.

once you have an activated sprint phone + its correct SIM on this free plan,
you can swap another phone (that is compatible on S network) with its correct sim and it works.

S sim are not like TM or ATT.
meaning u cannot simply take out a sim from phone 1 and insert to phone 2

u must inform S ur intention to swap a device.
then give them S the imei # of phone and iccid of sim
this can be done calling account services or via chat.
this cannot be done via telesales

No, you cannot swap Sprint service from phone to phone by swapping SIM from phone to phone.

I had a good experience with the Sprint website last night. On BYOP plan under wife's name. I had a new phone to switch out on the website and it actually worked. In the past we (my wife) have had to call in and deal with a person which is always slow and tedious.

I took my iPhone 6s Plus in for the $29 battery replacement at the Apple Store. They accepted it and came out afterwards with a new phone of the same type. They broke the screen or something so I get a new older phone which is fine for the battery replacement fee. They matched the phone settings so I received back the same AT&T model already unlocked.

I wanted them to activate it with sprint but they faced long hold times and I didn't have the Sprint account data, my phone number (I use GV and hop numbers all the time) etc.. After waiting a while with them on hold, knowing they might have problems activating it I took the phone home to activate.

This time the Sprint website actually worked for activation! I just started the phone switching process and plugged in the new phone's number and the old sprint SIM's numbers and it activated the new phone! In a few minutes I got the service update complete prompt and the phone worked! Sprint didn't even require me to verify the online account via text message like normal. It was nice to have the self-service website actually working, especially since tons of people are activating new iPhone models and I assume the hold times are bad for everyone.

Of note I was receiving all sorts of SIM locked or bad SIM errors when the SIM was in the new phone prior to it being activated, afterwards no SIM errors.

I haven't actually gotten to that part yet. I ordered the SIM cards online yesterday and I'm waiting for them to arrive sometime today. When I activated the EB toolbar, it originally said "Activate Up to $62.50 Cash Back," but once I signed up with Sprint and paid $17 or whatever for two SIM cards and overnight shipping, I got an email notification from EB that I got a $100 cashback. I'll know for sure if it worked when I actually receive the check in the mail of course but I have no reason at the moment to doubt it will.

Also Wiki says, "you must ORDER ONLINE OR ::::::ACTIVATE OVER THE PHONE" doesn't it? Am I missing something?
