Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

The SIM needs to stay with the activated IMEI.

Why bother? A person of your obviously elite stature should never be seen with a cheap spare/backup/beater phone.
I fully understand that your phone calls are far more important than everyone else in this thread.
BTW did I just see you holding up a placard and a really really shiny new phone on the steps of the Supreme Court about 5 minutes ago?
That's funny- I hoped I was imagining the elitist, arrogant and condescending tone.
I got the distinct impression they meant to say: "I am doing you unwashed masses a favor by gifting my last gen iPhone to my poodle for her GPS Tracker collar and signing up for this 'deal' ....You're Welcome!!! "

I tried to activate my Moto G5 Plus phone with a FreedomPop number on Oct. 1. I gave the Porting dept. the incorrect Account information. 4 hours later, they e-mailed me saying that the Port was cancelled. 2 days later I called again to port using the same phone but with an AT&T phone number. The Porting dept. successfully completed the port. I asked the CSR if I am now on the 1 year Free Sprint Plan. He assured me that I would be. 1 hour later I checked my account online ( I couldn't check it right away because the system did not recognize my new Sprint phone number), and found that I was now on the Sprint Unlimited V36 plan which costs $65 a month. I had to call and open a Ticket to get this resolved. Called on Oct. 3 and still waiting to get it changed. They said it would take 5 to 7 business days. So I would recommend you always check your account online to verify what plan you're on.

Definitely! I use it all the time on my S8 and other phones. I do not have an iPhone specifically but it should be fine.
Is your S8 and other phones Sprint branded phones? I have a Pixel and it does not get Wi-Fi calling. But the Sprint branded Moto z2 Force definitely does.

Do y'all get a handy every time you walk into a Sprint store or something? It's so bizarre to me, to see folks white-knighting for a cellular service provider, let alone the worst one.

My phone calls aren't more important, but it's certainly important to me that I have service and call quality when and where I need them. Sprint does not provide that everywhere I go because I am not always in a city or along a major highway, so paying for service that I know will be awful doesn't make sense to me. If a person never goes anywhere remotely rural, then sure, Sprint can be a good, cheap option.

Sprint is the worst of the major providers in the United States. It's a fact. They're struggling and their customer service is awful. I don't judge anyone for using them, I simply have my own standards of service and I'm willing to pay for service that meets those standards. Sprint does not. I'll take Sprint for free, but it simply isn't worth more than that to me.

I'm not sure why you people are so sensitive to anyone pointing out that Sprint isn't very good, but I'm sorry if my comments made you feel like you were less of a person for using them. I'm not sure why that's where you went, but I'm sorry if I triggered you somehow.

PS - to the mod who keeps deleting my posts, may I suggest shooting me a PM if you don't like what I have to say, and tell me how and why it offends you? Because otherwise I'm going to copypasta this response and keep putting it back up until you man up and whip out the banhammer. If I have to switch IPs on my VPN and log in with one of my other accounts for a while, that's fine. It's really not that big a deal. My contribution to this thread was asking how to make use of this deal with the cheapest possible phone so I could use the service in a specific way.

I honestly can't figure out why someone would choose to read way too deeply into what I posted and make up their own story, but this thread seems very polarized and folks are easy to unintentionally trigger. Folks need to decompress with some hot tea and meditation, or something.

Data point: today I can verify tmo roaming at a relatives house that previously could barely get data. Full signal with 45 down and 9 up on speed test. Signal check pro shows clearwire B4. Using LG G6.

Edit: just noticed my phone's time is showing 5 hours ahead of actual time. Strange!
Good job on the data point ho.... And looks like Sprint teleported you to the future. 😀

Yes they are Sprint branded. I always make sure they are. All my phones are Android Sprint versions.

I am aware that Pixels and non-Sprint-branded Motos do not get a bunch of Sprint (and AT&T I think) features. To be honest, I do not think there are good phones to use on Sprint for that reason.

That is why the Boost Moto G6 Play was such a great deal and why I told people to get such a Sprint branded phone.
.
However I do not think that applies to the recent unlocked iPhone XS models, which have MUCH more universality than other phones. There is no carrier-specific model of the XS.

Thanks for posting please keep us (me) updated. I am having the same issue, took several days to port in from red pocket and now my bill says $102! I'm kinda starting to freak out. I also tried to add my wife's line. Had to create a separate account and her phone is not working at all. This has been a horrible experience. I wonder if this is all a recent change with sprints policy? I'm getting very worried if it gets close to the "14 day satisfaction guarantee" I may just have to go back to red pocket, I can't risk paying $100! For a month of service.

Has anyone else experienced issues since October 1?

Did you get everything ported in? What was the red pocket pin and acct? Was it just your phone number?

I have an S8+ on BYOD Free until 9/30/19. I want to upgrade to a Note 9. Suggestions?

I was hoping to add a line at Best Buy for $20/mo installment for 24 mos., swap devices, and then cancel the newly added line (which will have a $40 or so/month plan). Then hope to get Samsung trade-in offer of $450 for the S8+. Will this work? Anyone have the detailed terms and conditions that they can post here? Thanks.

Wi-Fi calling works on iphone 6s. Although I only used it a few times, we are not big Voice users and usually have cell coverage. My iPhone was able to enable it in settings but my daughter's phone gave error code(don't remember it) when enabling. I haven't toubleshooted it further.
Yes some people have posted they had some problems on earlier iPhone models using Wifi Calling that required some effort with Sprint to resolve, but, as you say, even on those models, it seems it was usually possible to resolve the problems with some effort.

SDers, I am trying to find whether WiFi calling is supported in this plan. I'm using the latest iPhone. Tried calling the Sprint number and have received both Yes and No as answers. I need WiFi calling as signals are not good inside my house.

Can anyone please let me know if WiFi calling is available on this 1 year Free plan?
Yes it is. Did you try enabling it on phone?Settings/cellular Wi-Fi calling.

I would check swappa or eBay. Look for used Sprint branded flagship phones like the LG g series or Samsung s series. Sprint phones should get on without any problem unless they were used on a Sprint mvno. Request the imei before purchase so you can enter it in the checker or by calling the telesales number in the wiki.
thanks for the response. looking for a cheap one. any suggestions? I looked up swappa and G5 for 67$ looks good considering that this phone would also work on GSM. I would actually prefer something cheap that I can use for a few months and throw away if the service isnt good. I prefer GSM network hence the reason to ditch it later.

Or buy a phone that supports Sprint and other GSM carriers that way you can leave whenever you want and take your phone with you.

  • Boy do I miss my ATT Prepaid speeds for Data but I am not paying anything so what the hell
  • They added that equipment protection without asking my I had to call to cancel
  • My only real issue is WiFi Calling, sprint supports it but to date i have not been successful in activating it. I want to use it with Comcast hotpots to fill in the coverage area. Of course the rep had no idea what i was talking about. Opened a ticket for level two support.

This is the message that I receive and in your sprint account WiFi Calling is listed under permissions but it seems grayed out
