Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I opened a Sprint account for my AT&T galaxy s8 (unlocked) yesterday. I got a pack of 3 sim cards from sprint store for $3. I declined insurance, despite the fact that tele sales urged me to get it.

Then I added my wife's iphone 6s from tmobile (also unlocked). I bought a tmboile sim card starter pack for $10 on amazon to port her out of sprint because she was on my dad's account. It took about 10 mins to port from sprint to tmobile. When I was on the phone with tele sales already for my phone, I added hers to which the idiot guy I was talking to said he needed to add Sprint Complete for $15 a month to her line, but I could cancel it immediately after for no charge.

I finished the call with him then he transfered me to Asurion to cancel the Sprint Complete. The girl there said, "no problem, it's cancelled for no charge".

Fast forward to now and it is still on my account. I am just nervous these idiots at Sprint lied and I'm gonna be stuck with this stupid insurance I don't need.
Just go to your account online and cancel it. Then confirm with onlune chat that it is cancelled and email the chat transcript to yourself. If it has been more than a day, you may have to pay the full amount for the month, but then they should credit you for the unused days of the insurance on the following bill. It happened to me and ended up being OK.

I usually comb through the comments and find somebody talking about what I'm clueless about but this thread is over 1800 pages lol. So, there is an eligible devices list then an expired list and they almost look identical. I'm leaning towards buying a phone. What phone should I get? Anything solid with no connection issues below 200
Depends heavily on what you are looking for out of the phone. Picked up an LG v20 Sprint branded phone for my son. Phone is A couple years old, but specs are way above average for price point. under $130

Has anyone ported to T-Mobile through their activation number recently? I just tried to do it right now and the customer service rep said I need to pre-pay and pick a plan before they can activate the SIM and complete the port. They said it is a new process starting 10/9/18. Is this just BS or a new Tmobile policy??

In addition to ghengis' excellent post: Toggle options in "preferred network" settings". I don't have me essential phone anymore either so this is from memory.
Also do you have latest updates? (Probably a stupid question but Essential did have Sprint connection problems before all updates)
Yes, latest updates. Ghengis post was exceptional. I've been playing with various settings and am seeing solid gains in connectivity, and download speed, plus it's both interesting, and fun learning about the various aspects that makes the device tick. The app 'lte discovery' is very interesting. Thanks to all for the help!

I have a BYOD account opened this summer.

Can I add a line to it briefly (i.e. one or two months) ? I might have to do this a couple of times this year. Long story...

Sure - I do that. There is no credit check needed. Just call TeleSales with the port-in details. Later, just port out any line when you are finished needing it for the time being.

The only sense that the older list is "expired" is that the old list is less complete now in terms of newer phones, that's all. Phones that were valid before are still valid (other than any errors such as tablets that should never have been included).

Glad to help, you were nice with your words in asking for help and that's what's the community is for. Remember the Essential has monthly updates the same time as the Google Pixels. If you are not satisfied with the Essential's cameras you can do a gcam port.

My 120 days was up a few days ago and am looking to upgrade to the iPhone XS Max. A couple of questions to those that may have upgraded at 120 days:

1. I know the upgrade has to be done online, NOT in a store. The website gives me an option of in-store pick up instead of shipping. Is picking it up in store problematic even though I ordered/inititiated the upgrade online?

2. If I were to upgrade through Apple's iPhone upgrade program, would I keep my year of free service, or does it require me to ONLY do this through Sprint and not Apple, Best Buy, etc? When I start to go through the process on Apple's website it says:

- We'll contact Sprint so you don't have to.
- You'll keep your existing number and rate plan.
- Your current phone will work until you set up your new iPhone.

....but I'm wondering if that is ACTUALLY the case.

I thought you get to keep the remaining months per the Wiki (I signed up in June 2018):

""When can I upgrade to a new phone on this promotion?
Upgrades for lines activated on the FREE Unlimited plan will be allowed after 120 days of service. Any upgrades prior to the 120 days will require a plan change to the Unlimited data, talk and text plan. Unfortunately, you'll lose the remaining free months in your year of free service.

Old upgrade terms in Sept:
If you signed up for the offer before 8/1/17, you can upgrade to a new Sprint phone by leasing or purchasing it in monthly installements after 10/1/17, and you'll still enjoy your free year of service. Any upgrades prior to 10/1/17 will require a plan change to Unlimited data, talk and text and you'll lose the remaining free months in your year of free service.

If you signed up 8/1/17 or later, you can upgrade to a new Sprint phone by leasing or purchasing it in monthly installements after 12/1/17, and you'll still enjoy your free year of service. Any upgrades prior to 12/1/17 will require a plan change to Unlimited data, talk and text and you'll lose the remaining free months in your year of free service."

You don't have to listen to him. You'll only change to full price plan if you upgrade through store. I upgraded my lines online for the essential phone and moto z force and still on the same plan.

I guess that's my question - is upgrading/ordering online and then picking up in store (rather than shipping) considered "upgrading in store"?

How are people getting the offer to extend free service if they purhcase a new phoen from sprint? I just asked about it through chat and they said

"Katherine S: I can see that the account is on Unlimited Bring Your Phone plan which is a promotional plan. This plan will be over in an year. After that you won't be able to extend the plan however if you upgrade the device after one year then you will be able to get the best plans from us.
Katherine S: However the free plan will not be extended"
