Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

This has been asked to death with different phones and my googling say "no", but none of you SDers has a way I can get this with my ZTE Axon 7, correct?
It's a solid No. Need a CDMA phone. A7 doesn't have the radios

I get that no upgrades are allowed for 120 days, but after that period, do you qualify for promotions, like 18 or even 24 monthly credits for the iPhone? On the BYOD plan now for almost a month, but would love to upgrade to an iPhone XS or XS Max in a few months if I can get hte promo pricing (with trade-in). Thanks.
All promo's are not available to us, even after 120 day threshold has been met.
eg. LG V30+ is available for $360 ($15 per month), but the $5 flex lease deal for the same phone is not. That deal would require new line on paid plan.
Some great ones come along though.
(Essential phone last year, Moto Z2 force this year)
Edit: iPhone 7 on 24 month finance $5 per month available now for new line, not BYOD

The service is garbage compared to Verizon. In the Foothills in Altadena, there is no internet not phone service. I had excellent service with Verizon. There is no service in YMCA Glendale, where I also had excellent Verizon service. I have Google pixel 2 phone.

I was able to get a 2nd year free of the BYOD plan by following the steps on the wiki, by providing a different SSN than one used on my previous account. Did that today. After the switch, I was unable to send / receive calls and text messages. Googled for it and was asked to dial ##873283#. After the system update, the issue was resolved and am to make / receive calls and text messages.

Thanks to all the slickdealers and especially comintel for all the info !!

enable roaming then you should have service. It's free roaming on Verizon.

I was offered a second year free if I upgrade my phone. So telesales said if I buy a phone from them, or lease one that I wanted, I would get an additional year free.

Most had to speak to Supervisors and so many different reps because they said they never seen this and didn't have a definitive answer, but that is what the final conclusion was that they provided me.

So I can buy a phone from them and get a 2nd year free now. Anyone else get this, or have any issues after doing this?

*My first year free was already ending fyi, thus the 2nd year free offer.

I ported out to Tmobile last night and was given a temporary number. He said it takes 24 hours for my number to switch over. Is that true? I know when I tried to call from a landline, it goes straight to voicemail.

Sorry. I should have said that these Sprint Flex-Leases cannot be combined with BYOD.

Thanks for the tip.

Yes, I am aware I need different SSN. I already placed order and signed up for BYOD plan, but haven't received LG phone yet. Sprint will probably send it pre-configured, so my concern is if I try to switch to my existing IPhone and return LG, I could lose BYOD plan.

If someone has done this, I would appreciate step by step what I should do once I receive phone from Sprint. IMEI switch you mentioned is foolproof?
All sorts of us do IMEI swaps all the time and there is zero issue or difficulty. You can just do an IMEI swap via chat (better yet on your dashboard). Call it an IMEI swap, that's all, not the other things you are calling it. It will be a problem unless you call it by its proper name.

"Please do an IMEI swap. Swap off present phone xxx IMEI yyyyyy and swap on in its place phone zzz IMEI AAAAAA" .

I do not know exactly what you have done re ordering the LG, who you ordered it from, how it was set up etc. That is not the way anyone else here does things or advises they be done. This is supposed to be a BYOD program where you bring your own phone and that's what all of the rest of us do. Personally I would not activate the LG if you do not intend to use it. That sounds needlessly complex to me. Just do not open the box, get an RMA to return it and activate the phone you really want to use instead. TeleSales can do all that for you if that is who you bought the LG from. They do not mind if you change to just activating your own phone.

Or, do it the way you are doing it if you like but that is your way, not ours. It seems pointlessness to me since you do not actually want to use the phone you have ordered. It will probably work but there is little experience with it. It is not hard to get this offer - you do not have to grab the first suggestion from a sales rep who is thinking only about commissions.

The price match would be to the boostmobile.com website. I believe they still have the phones on sale. Pull up the sprint.com website on your phone and click the get started from the original post, then with the Box in hand input the IMEI from the label on the box before you actually purchase it.I'm mobile right now but Comintel can actually send you a link to check that IMEI
Quote from Huntsman000 :
Thanks for the response. What does "test out the IMEI in the store" mean and where do price match to?
The link would be https://www.boostmobile.com/phone...OT19227BBB

but it looks as if the additional 20% discount is not available right now. I am sure it will be back. They take it on and off periodically.

You are probably better off to just ignore it and just sign up instead for another free year either using a family member's SSN or port out for 45 days and then you are eligible as a new customer even with the same SSN (unless the offer ends before the 45 days elapses).

But it is a Retentions offer so if do you want to consider it, I would call Retentions and get it directly from them rather than second hand from TeleSales. Retentions will document it properly whereas TeleSales is very sloppy and may not.

Call 1-888-211-4727 and choose "Cancel Service" at all prompts to get to Retentions (also known as Cancellations). You can tell them you were already offered it by TeleSales but you would like to get it confirmed and firmed up and documented properly.

Ask for it to be provided in writing. I think you will find it is slightly different in some of the fine points from what you have outlined but yes, some others have posted that they have got this offer.

Is good if u were going to get a new phone anyways.

If not, just do port dance w another ss #

No discount on the phone so not really a deal. Just saves the hassel of porting out and then back in.

Do what's easier for your situation
