Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

If not, just do port dance w another ss #

No discount on the phone so not really a deal. Just saves the hassel of porting out and then back in.

Do what's easier for your situation
Thank you, well it is a hassel, either way. This does expedite things if it all goes smooth. They do have a phone or two on an okay deal. If they would let me bring my own again it would be even better.

Since you did not reply to my post, let me repeat the key suggestion: Get it in writing from Retentions (or TeleSales if you insist). Otherwise you do not really know the full terms. Taking TeleSales verbal description of an offer is highly risky (they are wrong about half the time and highly prone to exaggerating and leaving things out).

Thank you, that is a great suggestion and advice. I did not see your post sorry. Just ask that they send me a copy of the details outlining the extension agreement or?

Sure that will work.
If they will not do it, I would talk to Retentions to get it since they are the source of this Retention offer.

You are probably better off to just ignore it and just sign up instead for another free year either using a family member's SSN or port out for 45 days and then you are eligible as a new customer even with the same SSN (unless the offer ends before the 45 days elapses).

But it is a Retentions offer so if do you want to consider it, I would call Retentions and get it directly from them rather than second hand from TeleSales. Retentions will document it properly whereas TeleSales is very sloppy and may not.

Call 1-888-211-4727 and choose "Cancel Service" at all prompts to get to Retentions (also known as Cancellations). You can tell them you were already offered it by TeleSales but you would like to get it confirmed and firmed up and documented properly.

Ask for it to be provided in writing. I think you will find it is slightly different in some of the fine points from what you have outlined but yes, some others have posted that they have got this offer.
Different in which ways? Otherwise thanks so much for the advice, that could be really helpful.

Thanks. Good to know. I know a year ago when I switched from Tmobile to Sprint, my number ported in just 20 minutes, so I have no idea why Tmobile is telling people to wait 24 hours.

The version of the offer that someone else posted said that it was $25 a month for the first 4 months and then the next 8 were free.

I can believe that there are various versions of this retention offer but to me that is all the more reason to get it in writing.

You will be in a world of hassle if it ends up after the fact that they give you a different offer than the one you thought you were getting and they claim that was what you agreed to verbally. This has happened to people.

Need advise!
I ported out my number(single line) from sprint to Verizon prepaid 30+ days back.... and last week I got a bill of $0 value from sprint. The account should have been closed from the day I ported to Verizon or I have to call sprint exclusively to close the account

I am planning to come back to sprint (this thread 1yr plan) after 45+ days of moving out of Sprint

Just call and straighten it out, that's all.

In this case, I would call the TeleSales number and be ready to sign up on the spot in case they offer to do it right now, as they occasionally (though not usually) will. This *might* be a case where they will offer to do it "early", since they have made a slight error arguably and will have their hands on the account for that reason in any case.

You can use the same sim to port back in to the new plan when/if they do allow it.

All sorts of us do IMEI swaps all the time and there is zero issue or difficulty. You can just do an IMEI swap via chat (better yet on your dashboard). Call it an IMEI swap, that's all, not the other things you are calling it. It will be a problem unless you call it by its proper name.

"Please do an IMEI swap. Swap off present phone xxx IMEI yyyyyy and swap on in its place phone zzz IMEI AAAAAA" .

I do not know exactly what you have done re ordering the LG, who you ordered it from, how it was set up etc. That is not the way anyone else here does things or advises they be done. This is supposed to be a BYOD program where you bring your own phone and that's what all of the rest of us do. Personally I would not activate the LG if you do not intend to use it. That sounds needlessly complex to me. Just do not open the box, get an RMA to return it and activate the phone you really want to use instead. TeleSales can do all that for you if that is who you bought the LG from. They do not mind if you change to just activating your own phone.

Or, do it the way you are doing it if you like but that is your way, not ours. It seems pointlessness to me since you do not actually want to use the phone you have ordered. It will probably work but there is little experience with it. It is not hard to get this offer - you do not have to grab the first suggestion from a sales rep who is thinking only about commissions.
Thanks for your reply. LG phone I am referring to - I bought directly from Sprint because IPhone 6 I have wasn't eligible.

If I don't open LG and directly activate using iPhone 6, is it still done via IMEI swap?
